Invandrare + högtalare = sant?
 in  r/sweden •  3d ago

OP seems to be showing confirmation bias. They notice immigrants behaving badly because it fits their existing perception, but probably don’t pay the same attention when Swedes do exactly the same thing.

I’m an immigrant myself, and I hate it when people do this. I genuinely move away from them on the train because it’s just bad manners.

But saying a “large number of immigrants” do this is a bit of a stretch, isn’t it? You probably see two or three people talking loudly on speakerphone, and they happen to be immigrants. That doesn’t make it an immigrant thing.

I’ve also seen plenty of drunk Swedes shouting, singing and making an absolute scene on the Tunnelbana, especially on weekends. Does that mean Swedes have no manners or don’t know how to behave in public? Of course not.

Completely agree that people blasting their conversations on speakerphone are bloody annoying, but let’s not pretend a handful of people represent an entire group. Your personal experience doesn’t automatically make your conclusion unbiased.

Why are there soo many people from the U.S. here?
 in  r/stockholm •  4d ago

Just be humble because accept that Americans are just nasty and not good enough for any human being. A country of full of racists, serial killers, pedophiles, war mongers, obnoxious, liars, drug addicts, school shooters and so on..

Overall, identifying Americans is easy peasy 😂

Not really! I see many people Swedes living in Spain, UAE, Paraguay or India for years and none of them know the language of that specific country. What’s the logic?

Also for example if you ask an American where they are from and they would tell you “California”

Why would Americans or any others nationals need to learn Swedish if they could live and work without Swedish?

Do you know whether they have sparring sessions? I have been doing mma/bjj for about 4 years now abroad. When I come for holidays, I’d like to go and push my younger brother into it.

How about a mother with new born baby in the same bus? I think we need balance and mutual understanding!

27M English guy newly moved to Stockholm looking for mates.
 in  r/StockholmSocialClub •  22d ago

Hola! I’ve moved to Stockholm earlier this year. Working with a gaming company as a lawyer. I’ve live in the UK for about 7years, 7 in Finland and 3 in Estonia. Married and living with wife.

I’m also making efforts to meet new people and make friends for real. If time permits, it would be grand to catch up for a drink or hike in the national park!

I need advice on buying sneakers.

Nike dunk, original would cost you about 10k but that’s a great investment. Otherwise, please go to Bata and find something close to Converse.

Hi! I’m new to Stockholm with my wife. Professionally I’m a lawyer and wife is Fashion Designer. We would love to meet up and make new friends here. Hiking, drinks, coffee or whatever, we’d be down for it. Let me know if you make any plans including any other if possible 🙏🏻😇
