The quality in general of Airbnb is so insanely unknown. You could be entirely deceived by a few nice photos and end up in a smelly dump.

This is what happened to us. Showed up to an Airbnb and the place was an absolute dump. We couldn't stay there; my skin was crawling because it was unclean, furniture was falling apart. It was nothing like the listing. How is that ok???

It left us scrambling at midnight to find a new spot.

I believe reviews are for this, and ratings

Right?! Don't people read reviews? It's not hard to sniff out sketchy Airbnbs.

I just think Airbnb should get involved and do some real vetting and evaluating on a standardized scale. One man’s 5 star is another’s 1 star. But at least if there was a clear tier system where you knew what you were getting before hand, then it would be easier to deal with.

Def can be better. Superhost is one thing comes to mind that is pretty clear it is what it says it is. And reviews in all site, not just airbnb, can be faked some. So ya not perfect for sure

This was a guest favorite listing with positive reviews and only 1 review from half a year ago with a concern of cleanliness. This is not from lack of experience or work in reviewing before booking and was my first negative experience. I was shocked at how gross it was
