When an AirBNB host got mad at us for coming and leaving at night is when I stopped using it. Why the fuck do you care if I come back at 9pm and leave at 2am, that is literally none of your business?

My SO and I were checking in late and there wasn't anything that said we had to let them know. And I don't mean 11 pm to 1 am late. Just like 7 pm instead of 3. They messaged us to ask if we were still coming... it made me uncomfortable because it's contactless check in. You don't have to greet anyone or let them know. So how they did even know? Made me think there were cameras somewhere. And even if there wasn't, why are you so hyper fixated when I arrive? Us arriving past 3 pm wouldn't effect a thing. Anyway, I love that hotels don't hyper monitor you and they mind their business.

Yeah it's crazy. I learned my lesson booking an airbnb where the host lives in the house. I understand it's your home, but if you are going to treat me like a child then don't have people stay at your house? There was no excessive noise either... so strange. Hotels for the win.

I’m not saying this is always the case, but my key lock has history on it. It’s easy to see if a code has been used and when in the app. No cameras needed.
