Ok, now do something about the bullshit pricing.

“Only 109 dollars a night”

Click on it to look at more pictures.

“Cost for two nights is 450 dollars after fees and taxes”

This is the key, IMO, and I think it would greatly increase the interest and utilization of the platform.

Like, just require that ANY/ALL listings to appear at full nightly price, wherever advertised, including any taxes that aren't specific to the renter's home location (if that's a thing).

Americans are sick of pricing games... advertised, listed, etc. We just want to be able to shop based on the presented price and NOT need to look for the asterisk stating "plus BS fees, processing fees, handling fees, and (the exponentially growing amount of) because F--k You fees"

Sure, stipulate fines for specific violations (messes, damage, etc) but just bake in all your goddamn expenses AND necessary/desired profit margin into the base price! If that was the law/requirement, buyers wouldn't need to worry about it and sellers wouldn't have to use them to be competitive with other options

when was the last time you actually used it? cause airbnb shows the actual price you end up paying when browsing. the pricing does change with different dates, but that is no different from hotels

They fixed that stuff too late. Just like with this.

Two weeks ago. I searched for a place in the interior of BC. Listed price was 98 bucks a night. Went to book for two nights (Tuesday, Wednesday), total was 350.
