I’m encouraged to use all my tokens. Company is paying for tokens and if you don’t use them they expire.

I have loops running what does this ticket do and what does this pr do on my teams repos and have it give me a morning report. Stuff I would do anyway throughout the week but the company asked for max token usage so I’m doing my part with the nonsense

I cannot even get close to max usage, even doing the stupidest stuff. I have dashboards, I never personally interact with Jira or Gitlab. Code reviews, implementations, dashboards for everything. I’m at like 25%.

Coding output has never been the issue anyway. Anyway, it’s all so ridiculous.

You guys have limits?

My company has a dashboard showing everyone's usage costs, and #1 and 2 are both clearing $100k a month in tokens

Dude that sounds insane, just hire a person... The company is just burning money. this is happening in so many corporations and antropic and openai are still losing billions too, mind boggling

Seriously, I’ll never understand why companies have lost the concept of investing in people. You could get some truly excellent talent for that kind of money 🤦🏻‍♀️

Its cuz the slaveowner class absolutely hate (could end the sentence there tbh) giving anything, and i mean anything at all, to the "poors."

Redditor who has never been part of management concocts fantasy of evil twirling mustache plans.

Please touch grass

One upside to this whole shitshow is they may actually get rid of entire HR departments ( because no humans)...so there's that.

Is it that they aren't actually paying anthropic that much?

Build a copy of pt with it as a side gig

Start building dumb shit or make it do useless tasks that you weren't going to do any way. Everyone should maxx out their accounts for frivolous stuff.

Coding output has never been the issue anyway.

Feels like there should be an AI coding version similar to the old adage: "Typing speed isn't equal to programming speed (or quality)."

I was terrified for my job when i got notified id spent $1000 in a week. Turns out i have $10000 a month to spend.

That's more than all my costs as an employee.

Do you do B2B or internal work? No way any of my clients would want to like double my monthly cost. We only get Claude Max

What in the parking meter-ass business model is this?

2

u/bigevilbrain 22h ago

So… open models are probably good enough, or will be soon. Running LLMs locally and not sending all your data off to the cloud… duh.

Big enough companies will run their own AIs. You can run your own AI. You can own the parking meters yourself.

It’s very silly because the AI companies put a bet on the fact most people won’t use all their tokens
