Thank god I met my wife in college. My brother’s on the apps and it’s been rough. He’s super eligible but it’s clear the apps are just there to keep people in a perpetual loop. It’s become so gamified like everything else, it’s actually opposed to their interests to create healthy long term matches. Big money ruins another thing that could have actually been pretty great for folks.

Nowadays, probably not.

If you get the courage to go up to someone you find pretty, chances are others do to. Which means when you go up to her, you might be the 5th guy who hits on her that night. And she might just shrug you off like all the other ones.

Or, you could be the 5th guy who hits on her that week, and you’ll be shrugged off like the rest of them.

Last time I went to a bar for people my age, everyone was in their own friend groups. Nobody was alone. It’s harder to go up to a woman who’s with their friends in a table or shooting pool - and you come interrupt their group. She came there to hangout with them. Not to break off and spend their time talking to you.

What about nightclubs? Guys do end up dancing with random girls on a nightout.

Don’t expect to meet your future wife at a nightclub.

Probably a better setting to meet woman where it’s acceptable to approach them. But the whole clubbing thing is just ewww to me.
