The Bioware from the last 10 years are not the Bioware from the first 20 years. The name it's the only thing remains.

That's usually the result from change in management.

A strong manifesto with genuine belief behind it being first and foremost would normally hold regardless of who's managing. When that statement gets pushed back, things tend to fall and crumble

The problem was rampant, unchecked narcissism and ideology - which took power once the legacy talent jumped ship (or was pushed out).

None of the people that was responsible for ME being what it is were in BioWare anymore. Either moved to different roles or entirely different companies.

BioWare just had some good IPs to their name but there's no doubt a newer ME entre would have been disappointing and widely hated. Like, the odds were very much against it being an acclaimed success.

People get way too attached to studio names instead of the talent who works there or used to.

That is true, but fair enough though. As someone who played BioWare games since the 90s, they were formative on many people's gaming experiences. The name alone always invones a strong sense of nostalgia.
