That's crazy, any competent AI policy would have shot that down instantly

Unless somehow "competant" and "AI" should not be used in the same sentence...

These people have blown smoke so far up their own asses they think they’re hot shit lol just extremely out of touch with reality imo.

I love cyberpunk but I’d much rather not live it. I can’t imagine how apocalyptic an event like the DataKrash would be in irl and I can’t help but feel like we’re increasing the chances of some crazy shit like that happening to where we have to segment the internet and recreate it essentially

It's because the AI agents aren't designed to be useful - they're designed to maximize engagement because that's what makes money for the AI companies.

The AI tells people exactly what they they want to hear in a pleasing tone. It tells them that they are so smart for using the AI, praising them like a mother praises a five year old. It's confirmation bias and Dunning-Kreuger all the way down.

I work in defense and we are sprinting towards the brick wall, feeding all our data into public models because idiots want an answer - ANY answer - no matter how correct it is.

this is the inherent problem, its sales people for AI companies, and C-suite people who dont know better that are the ones making the fucking decisions.
