“AI has a tendency to rewrite everything constantly”
I use Claude Code daily. I don’t find this to be true with any of the models released in 2026. We also spend a decent amount of time working on architecture documents, API contracts, etc at the beginning.
I also have Claude routines setup to run nightly to find code that has drifted from its documented behavior, finds duplicated or nearly duplicated code, etc. and then open targeted pull requests that can be reviewed by a human in 30 minutes or less (these ones always get human reviews because they’re not directed by a human).
I can tell you where any feature lives in the code base because the code structure still makes sense even after almost all our code written in the last 16+ months was done by Claude.
But there is a huge difference between developers carefully using LLMs to generate code, reviewing and “owning” each change, and a group of people blindly prompting to add features and fix stuff. That’s where the codebase can easily balloon to millions of lines of code, even using Fable 5.1 or Opus 5.5

and you actually trust the output...? AI analyzing AI generated code great idea. Have you totaled up the cost of your tokens yet and realize you could just, y'know, use real engineers instead?
Are you working in software development or anything similar right now?
Yes, we trust them. They’re doing great work and taking a lot of the menial work out of the equation. I know the articles about “urrr Claude wiped my entire repo” are funny and maybe even true, but that is entirely user error. Someone actually experienced who knows what they’re doing will see amazing improvements with AI. Huge portions of coding is being automated right now, and you’re probably going to start seeing articles about that more and more. Remember that this isn’t a static technology, it’s improving rapidly, open source especially. A few years ago I couldn’t even use it for finding quotes in a selection of articles, today we can’t develop anything without AI integrated into it or our clients aren interested. Everyone wants it because it works and it works better every update, usually.
How is it inferior? Can you tell me any actual issues you’ve identified with the code you’ve produced with AI? I assume with your experience you can at least give me some examples of issues you frequently find it making which led you to stop using it.

Yes, which is why I know the best use of AI is limited... function by function basis, with humans architecting every last step of the process. And guess what? I don't need to waste tokens on overnight unsupervised code "review." I never get it to generate more code than I can easily review in a couple minutes. Rinse & repeat all day. The fact you have to do the AI "code review" at all is an implicit admission that it is doing things you don't want, but since you're an idiot, you get the AI that wrote the bad code to write more bad code to fix it.
You are writing a whole lot of word slop there so I'm starting to think you have outsourced all of your brain function to AI. Get a life man. It's fun to make things yourself.
Your inability to utilize tools to their full potential is a mark on you, not the tool. Doesn’t matter to me though, less competition is fine in my eyes.
Aight well let me know where you're at in 3 years when you've forgotten how to code and tokens cost 15x what they do today because the investors need to recoup the hundreds of billions they wasted on underutilized & unwanted data centers and we'll compare notes
Why would I be paying for tokens? Open models are already nearly on par with closed ones, few years from now they’ll almost certainly have reached parity.
It sounds like you just stuck your head in the sand and refused to educate yourself on AI, so you’re repeating the fear mongering stuff with no idea what you’re saying. Maybe it’s time to update your knowledge, do a little refresher on the current state of things?
Did you know velocity isn't everything? Feel bad for you if you or your company think it is. Besides I'm pretty sure I can AI write code & review function by function with just as much speed and far less bugs than whatever your process is.
I can tell you right now my boss isn’t going to approve spending 200k+ on another engineer but they will pay the cost of my enterprise seat for Claude.
Fucking laughable, sounds like you haven't even tried to use one. I have a 5090 and get to use one of the bigger models. Same prompt, same language, same internet sources, Claude will write 1,000 lines with only two or three errors. Chinese model has 100+.
We have multiple H200s with 141GB of VRAM, but I’m not ditching Claude until it costs like $5000 per month (right now our enterprise seat cost is still like $50 person per month)
