At least you’ve helped several other people here so your time & energy were not wasted. OP seems like a moron, frankly, and you can’t help morons who refuse to listen to reason because they have already decided upon using a particular (usually wrong) narrative for their issue. OP really wants the gloves to be the problem for some reason, it seems.

It would be an easier fix. They don’t want to deal with the annoyance of recaulking their sink, so they’ve decided they don’t need to.

Recaulking a sink also isn't crazy hard lol go to a hardware store get The Tube™️ that you cut open, dry out the sink (however you do that is up to you), line up with the seam maintain that line up use a putty knife to tidy it, and use disposable cookware (they make foil baking sheets even you dont need to eat everything microwave) until the caulk is dry if you dont have a dishwasher

We had to do this a lot as a kid because my house was old and falling apart trust me its not hard the actual caulking takes like 30 minutes maybe if you really dont know what youre doing

Yeah removing the plumber’s putty will probably be the most time-consuming part

Our caulk fell out previously lol old houses get water issues like nobody's business

Well, they’re not chemical resistant gloves. Everyone knows you should be using chemical resistant mechanics gloves when doing dishes. 🙄

I am very appreciative of the information you provided. I work on my house all the time, and I wouldn’t have a clue this is an issue. I usually get my plumbing done professionally, but who knows what I might come up with.

Well I thank you. You've helped me if not OP.
