OP, the cause is the plumbers putty used around your sink as caulk instead of non reactive silicone caulk.  Plumbers putty melts plastics and rubbers and is meant to be used on the inside of the drain not around the sink edge.

Does it like "activate" when it's wet? Or leak i guess? (I'm not dumb I swear lmao)

Now I kind of wanna leave my gloves at the edge of the sink and see what happens lol

No, the water shouldn't make a difference. Adhesives can be formulated to react with a variety of different materials in a variety of different ways to accomplish their intended adhesion. Some formulations of adhesives just happen to react poorly with unintended materials, as a side effect. You need to use the right adhesive for the job. This plumber did not.

Not OP, but I have the same melting glove problem. I replaced my own sink a few months back and used GE kitchen&bath silicone caulk
