It’s basic geometry, but people treat stepping back like giving up their birthright

Before it’s done moving is a lot, but I’m quick to stand, I’ve got long legs and I’d much rather stand after a long flight. It’s not a get off the plane faster thing for me it’s knee pain.

Man I feel you, im not trying to be an ass but even after a 1 hour flight being over 6ft is not fun for leg room and definitely gives me a cramp or 2. I couldn't care less about being off quickly, I just wanna get my legs out of a 90 degree angle lol.

I totally get the desire to stand, especially after a long haul flight. What galls me is the people who stand up and then immediately take down their two ginormous carry-on suitcases and fill the aisle with them... so that no one else can stretch, or move slightly... and then those suitcases sit there for 5-10 minutes until the line starts moving.

Yeah that’s inexcusable

I'm with you on this one. I'm scared of flying, and while i do behave like a normal person and keep it under control during flights, i REFUSE to unfasten my belt and move around on a plane unless it's absolutely neccessary. Seatbelts just give me some peace of mind, i wanna be fastened in my seat 100% of time in the air if possible. So yeah, once the plane stops, i stand up immediately, not to grab my bags or get to the exist faster, just to finally stand.

Can't stand unless aisle

I stand and block the aisle to avoid people rushing to the front. I don't move until the rows in front of me clear out

Depends on where you're sitting. I'm usually in one of the first few rows and off the plane within seconds on the door opening. If I mess around getting my bag it's going to delay the people behind me.

You don't know how on the spot the gate agent is going to be. It can be under a minute for them to have the bridge lined up and the door open, or it can be several minutes.

That being said, if you're in back, relax. You've got some time.

I always hear people complain about people standing up when the plane stops but that one I just can’t agree on. I’d rather those people stand up, get their bags and be ready to walk immediately when the door opens. Usually I’m by the window but I’ll also stand up as much as I can in my seat. My legs usually hurt from sitting for so long so I just want to stretch them and I also grab my bag from under my seat so I’m ready to walk when we can. It’s a massive pet peeve of mine when every row takes like 2 minutes grabbing their bags when a lot of us are already ready to go because we got our bags immediately.

Uber prices from airport might change significantly in 15seconds 😄

Or queueing to board the plane long before the boarding procedure begins. Like, chill down, your seat will still be there.

Right?! Even with first group boarding, that's a pass for me dawg. I'll be in the terminal stretching out & relaxing till I have to get on the plane... that I'll be on for hours? Idiots.

Standing up is to stretch.

That's because the moment they do that another person usually steps in front, and then they have the exact same, completely valid complaints as yourself. At a certain point you have to accept that this is just how airports work. Personally I have had no problem sitting back and waiting for mine to come around, then saying excuse me and grabbing my bag through the crowd.
