They are tax-free in a lot of countries (in Europe eg. Germany, Austria, France, Belgium, Ireland…).
This comes from the general conception of the tax laws in said countries.

Not in the Netherlands, it taxed the same way as earnings from gambling, which 37,8% for 2026
