even if so it happens ..move the fk away from eo's lips...like i think a quick unintentionl peck and an awkawardness followed by it will be more impactful than whtever this fish lip lock slop looks like...
I think an accidental kiss can be cute when it's like. the accident happens and then they immediately pull away and get awkward. or if they decide to just actually kiss. but these kdramas make their leads look like dead fish just standing there with their eyes open.
their story is progressing at a good pace, it wasn’t even necessary
I'm an kdrama watcher ever since and i swear this is cute before, and still cute for romcom but not anymore for those adult age range characters oh please kdrama peopleee
Edit:
LISTEN, I accept an accidental kiss. I like me some accident kiss scene in kdrama, I love those dumb, cute, cringe fun scene esp if it's a romcom, but I hope some of u get my point, two grown adults freezing with their lips touching like the game just crashed. It would honestly be way cuter if they bumped lips for half a second, immediately jumped apart and then spent the next scene dying of embarrassment. Also, if u just say "don't watch, or stop watching" nah, just bcs I say something or criticize a drama/kdrama doesn't mean I hate it, Ok? I still say an opinion, say yours too and i won't budge
Especially the 2026 dramas. They start off so strong you are convinced that they will be consistent until the end just for them to start dropping after the middle episode. A good example is My Royal Nemesis and Perfect Crown...they started off so good but the last episodes were not as fun to watch. I haven't watched the last episode of Perfect Crown because of that. Now we have another promising one, that is, the Remarried Empress...I pray that may this not happen to it. It looked so visually stunning and really promising. But nevertheless I will give flowers to See you at work tomorrow. Of all the dramas I watched this year, that drama is the #1 for me in terms of consistency, storyline and character progression.
I have only watched one of his shows so far, but I’m already going completely gaga over him😭 There’s just something about his face, smile and overall vibe that is dangerously attractive. Now I can’t wait to binge his other shows!
Also, can’t miss mentioning these cuties because of their killer smiles: Byeon Woo-seok, Kim Seon-ho, Gong Yoo, Ahn Hyo-seop
K-drama really has no shortage of ridiculously handsome men 😅
Who’s your pick for the most handsome Korean actor?
Mine is Reply 1988, hands down! 🥹 I’d love to experience all the warmth, chaos, friendships, and little moments again like it was my first time watching it. There’s just something so comforting and special about this drama that makes me wish i could forget everything and watch it all over again. 🤍
You know that drama everyone says you HAVE to watch? The one in every rec list? Yeah, that one.
Which universally beloved drama are you just… never going to watch?
And what’s your excuse? No shame here! We all have our reasons (even if they’re petty).
I’ll go first: When Life Gives You Tangerines
My reason for avoiding it probably isn’t very relatable. I’m simply in a phase where I’m avoiding emotionally devastating stories. Life is currently throwing curveballs at me instead of tangerines. :D
And everyone keeps telling me it will make me cry. It spans decades and follows people through love, family, hardship, sacrifice and aging, so apparently it’s a full emotional workout.
I’m actively avoiding this particular form of cardio.
Kdramatwt constantly talks about how damaging Korea’s beauty standards are and how actors shouldn’t be judged solely by their appearance, yet some of the same people casually call actors “ugly” when they don’t fit their own standards of attractiveness.
The whole “Go Young-jung’s 4th time with an ugly actor” discussion is a pretty good example of that. First Lee Jae-wook, then jung jon won from Resident playbook, then Koo Kyo-hwan, and now Heo Nam-jun. You don’t have to find every actor attractive, but repeatedly reducing actual actors to “ugly” because they don’t fit a conventional beauty standard is literally the same kind of mindset people claim to criticize.
As the title says, which dramas you wanna forget to either watch again cause it's sooo good or never watch at all for being too traumatic?
Ok I'll start first.
Rewatch:
Can this love be translated - This drama got me on chokehold when it first aired, I rewatched it at least 3x immediately after finishing. I even got too addicted to the main leads I watched all their promo vids and lowkey wished they're secretly dating. 😭🤣
Forget:
The red sleeve - I remember finishing this drama on a weekend night and I was too traumatised I can't sleep (I had early work the next day and it didn't help at all). It was too damaging that I got to a point I spent the whole night reading up on the history of the King and what actually happened to him IRL. lol Tbf tho, this drama was soo good while it lasted. I unfortunately can't rewatch it even if I get amnesia cause I'm sure as hell I'd remember the pain it gave me like it was my first heartbreak.
I can go on with this list but these are currently my top.
I'm seriously impressed with actors who can pull off both of these polar opposite roles. You love them in one drama and then hate them in the other. For me, I only know Kwak Dongyeon yet. The way he was in Vincenzo alone, at first hated him and then by then end of the same drama, he was someone else. And then watched Gaus electronics and I can't lmao. Any other actors who fall into this category?
It's titled Extraordinary Attorney Minami. When I saw the trailer, I ended up totally fixated on the male cast who looks so uncannily like the Korean version ☺️
And the female lead looks really cute too 😍
This looks great. it's really like in kdrama ☺️ (I just do wished they don't/didn't copy so much from the kdrama, as in the whole look of it, like they could make fml hair long here and do different mannerism and such)
to me, japanese adaptation does miss or hit in their adaptation but I'm looking forward to this. Though I don't think it can surpassed the way Eun bin did it. Park Eun Bin charm and acting is top-notch in this. Though, it look really good and hope the actress and the remake does it well ☺️
I really hope it's good like in kdrama and won't come out as cringed esp the acting. (don't get me wrong, there jdrama that I really like too, I also watched jdrama) but I mean no offense, cuz there are really some kdrama japanese adaptation I tried to watch like Itaewon class Japanese version, to know how they do it in their version and it was really cringe, esp the acting. 😭
✨ *Extraordinary Attorney Minami* premieres on Fuji TV and Netflix starting October 19, 2026. ☺️ 🐳
Edit, Been waiting for s2 (will still wait) of the kdrama extraordinary attorney woo and Netflix is giving us this jdrama version, okay let's go wong yoo japanese version 🐳
Let me preface this by saying I am a grown ass adult woman, but I loooove keeping a cute, girly journal with doodles and stickers. I started this one when I deleted my original Reddit account earlier this year but still felt the need to "post" about kdramas. It's mostly my short reviews/thoughts on the dramas I watch, but also some pure fluff and a LOT of talking about how hot the actors are. 😍
If any of you have a kdrama journal too, please share what you put in there and post pics too if you can!!
There was a time when we used to eagerly wait for upcoming kdramas. Fans would make list on MDL just to track the upcoming dramas of their fav actors and actresses
But now there is hardly any new dramas worth looking for. There is serious in decline in quality of kdramas over these last few years after COVID.
Not only that, but even the recent dramas lack so much in substance. Earlier there used to be natural acting talents who would put out great performances, but now majority of the actors just appear on the screen while barely trying anything to remotely resemble acting.
As an avid kdrama fan, it just saddens me about the quality of kdramas nowadays. There are now hardly any good ROMCOM, Thriller, Historical series. The ones we are getting now are just using the same rinse and repeat formula. Gone are the days of creativity. Where have all those talented screenwriters, directors, actors gone?
Yesterday I was checking MDL upcoming dramas tab and the only one worth checking out is upcoming Doctor X which is also a remake.
I miss the days when we were getting Beyond Evil, When the Camelia Blooms, CLOY, and such type of dramas with diversification and quality.
I know the plot was a mess and all but i enjoyed it, never seen a drama rating this low in MDL, 6.7 but then again i understand.
Just Lee Jae-wook and Lee Jun-young bromance was enough and Lee Jae-wook's chemistry with Choi Hee-jin was good that i hoped they would be endgame.
Wish to see them again in a drama together, if it is the same format of her being a Chaebol and him a smart guy for her familys company would be even better.
Honestly, looking at Kim Tae-ri, Jeon Yeo-been, Shin Hye-sun, and Kim Go-eun, it’s insane how consistent they are. Every single one of them is a total chameleon - they don’t just take on roles, they completely disappear into them.
They don't just star in projects, they elevate everything they touch, deliver masterclass performances every single time, and rarely (if ever) miss.
Who is your personal favorite among them, or what's the performance that made you realize they were in a league of their own?
For starters, I’m native Korean. I noticed that a lot of foreigners get confused of small things I find it normal in kdramas. Can you guys tell me some stuff that you guys don’t understand in kdramas?
No, i do not mean i want 18+ graphic scenes; I'm asking for more mature, complex stories and emotions in romantic K-dramas. I'm so tired of every series being so cringe, fluffy and cutesy (fr ex., My sticky Love). If you notice this problem does not arise in literally ANY OTHER GENRE of K-dramas. But when it comes to romance, suddenly it's a children's show. I'm talking about shows with complex story lines and a much more realistic, deep, intense kind of connection between the main leads.
Some examples are Something in the Rain and The Trunk.
Does anybody know what I'm talking about? I can't put it exactly into words, but I hope y'all understand what I'm talking about. It's so rare.
I’ve watched a decent amount of KDramas and I mostly have no idea why none of them come close to what Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-Wook had in this one as the Goblin and the Grim Reaper when it comes to the bromance factor. I swear, I remember starting off this one for the tragic story of the Goblin and the evolution of his love story with his destined bride… but I finished this series LITERALLY for these two and their insane on-screen chemistry. Went down the rabbit hole and found out they are excellent friends irl and that probably made everything a thousand times better, haha.
So my question… what’s the best bromance you’ve ever seen in a KDrama? Consider this a recommendation request from my side as I’d LOVE to check out more beautiful bromances.
*Thanks, everyone, for your participation! Voting is now officially closed. I’m tabulating the total points and double checking votes. Please look forward to the results next week!\*
This idea was inspired by the recently released NY Times top 100 TV shows of the 21st century list. That list was compiled by polling industry experts, so I thought it would be fun to poll the K-drama experts around here to see what list we'd end up with.
Here's how it'll work, you get to pick 5 and ONLY 5 dramas and rank them 1st - 5th. Each first place vote gets 5 pts., 2nd gets 3 pts., and 3rd gets 2 pts, and 4th & 5th both get 1 pt.
This is what a ballot will look like:
Business Proposal
Beyond Evil
Welcome to Waikiki
One Spring Night
The Red Sleeve
What NOT to do:
Try to get extra dramas in by including multiple ones on a line. For example, 1. My Mister/Happiness. This would result in NEITHER drama receiving any points
Include the same drama multiple times. For example 1. My Dearest, 2. My Dearest, 3. My Dearest. This would result in the drama getting 5 pts. with 2nd & 3rd place not receiving any points.
Not rank your choices. For example, My Liberation Notes, Stranger, Mr. Sunshine, The Glory, Mask Girl. This would result in all dramas receiving 1 pt. each, so please number your choices!
This should go without saying, but each user gets 1 vote. Any user casting multiple ballots with different dramas will have ALL of their ballots disqualified.
A couple of caveats:
For simplicity’s sake dramas will not be eligible for specific seasons. A vote for Taxi Driver is a vote for all 3 seasons. You cannot say Alchemy of Souls (S1 only). It's all or nothing, so you want to decide if dramas that vary in quality (in your opinion) are the ones you want to support.
I know people love their new releases, but any dramas that have not finished airing as of the date of this post are not eligible. That means no Four Hands, Two Sonatas.
Please respect everyone else's right to cast votes for any drama they choose. Do not criticize or harass other people for their ballots! I'm sure there will be a few dramas on the final list I can't stand personally, and it'll probably be true for you too. Keep in mind this is not YOUR list; it's EVERYONE'S. And that means everyone has an equal right to participation.
I never have a good handle on which ideas will be embraced by this sub, but if there's low participation, the list won't be worth much. Therefore, if there are not at least 100 ballots cast within 24 hrs, I'll scrap this idea and won't compile a final list. However, if it does take off, it will take me a while to work through the data. In that case, I'll keep voting open until I have entered all the ballots and am ready to begin calculating the points. So as long as you don't see a notice that voting is closed at the top of the post, feel free to cast your ballot.
Have fun and play nice!
ETA: Couple of notes for anyone still engaging with voting:
Everyone has the right to edit their ballots. However, I will not guarantee that as of Wednesday (9/30) any changes will be entered in the final results.
I'm holding everyone to the "no individual season" and "must number entries to receive full points" rules, but with the number of entries, I'm not going to remind individual users.
