An online poker bot farm where dozens of synced laptops collude at the same table against real players

To an extent. For the crypto sites? sure. There's no real motivation because they don't have huge loyal customers. People get on, play some cash, and fuck off.

But for the big operators like GG, WPT, PS, Coin... They would go out of business. User Ecology in these kinds of services is huge, and they have massive teams of people dedicated to ecology balance. WPT put a lot of effort even in to limiting the skill level at each table so you can't get stuck at a table with people who are way better than you, etc.

Well with the recent allegations of GG letting a known cheater play on their site for years after other sites banned them for irregular play and suspected them of cheating with enough certainty that they banned them, I wouldn’t put it past GG to let bots play so they can collect rake. Hell Brynn Kenny had all of his horses in the big tournaments on GG when it first started and had a hand in everyone’s play. Yet he is still an ambassador for them.

Yet he is still an ambassador for them.

No he isn't. I personally scrubbed his name from every single GG, N8, and GGPuke site, and with my own hand photoshopped him out of tons of images lol. You can check yourself here https://ggpoker.com/ggteam/.

Hell, Bryn is suing MK and GG just this week. They're not friends. He's had nothing to do with GG since 2020.

GG has lots of issues and I'm not going to say they're not scummy in many ways (as they are and I could list off a dozen), but they're not letting bots play openly and willingly. The only reason you'd let bots play like WPT did very early on, is when you don't have enough people to fill tables. You're not EV+ pulling rake from bots if it's killing your ecology.

So the video is fake?

•

No, It's probably real.

But imagine for example, seeing a guy putting cash into bags with nothing else visible in the video.

And people say "See you can just walk into any bank and steal money".

I'm sure someone is botting games. That doesn't mean it's happening everywhere, nor that it's happening on the major platforms.

These are billion dollar companies. It's not like they just would let their $ piss away by not taking care of these issues.

That makes more sense thanks for the response

Only if the users catch on. And maybe not even then.

It's important to remember if you're someone like GG who has tens thousands of legit DAU, that you don't need to pull rake from the bots. Just confiscate the accounts and take the cash. Why risk having the bots lose the money to other users when you can simply take the money for yourself?

And trust me, the users DO catch on. People track the win rates of everyone. There are services for this too. If somone has an insane winrate, not only will the operator do something, but other users will bring it up. That's how the superuser bug was found, for example.

I don't actually gamble at all.

I mean, I have at some point in my life, but I don't gamble more than maybe once every 2 years? I've never actually played online.

I work in in the Poker industry though and have worked for several of the large operators.

Except all are currently banned in the US. Crazy you can bet you nest egg of a Bills game, but I can’t play a legal hand of poker in my state.

GG has a license for Nevada, Michigan, NJ, and a few others. They also own WSOP and I'm fairly certain the WSOP site is legal?

IDK what state you're in, but there is some online poker in the US.

But with the Trump Admin's anti-gambling law, they basically made it so you shouldn't gamble in the US regardless.

In CA. None of the big ones that are actually regulated. Just America Card Room and Ignition pretty much, and I don’t trust them at all.
