Spoilers Why is everyone so incompetent?
I just started watching, and have gotten to the episode Frank kills Peter, and all I'm wondering, Frank has his team, w/ Stamper who just knows everything about everything, and Frank who keeps tabs on him and everyone, and all I'm wondering is why it seems he's the only politician out here who has any autonomy and foresight? You would think that the President of the United States would get to the position he's at by being as equipped and prepared as Frank is, but like everyone is so malleable to Frank's schemes, that it seems that whenever he has a plan, he can just get it done and expect it will get done bc nobody has any agency. In fact, the first time someone doesn't do what he asks (Claire undermining the votes for the watershed bill), his whole plan just falls apart until the side cast just goes back to the regularly scheduled programming of doing exactly what Frank knows is going to happen. Why is there nobody keeping tabs on Frank, who is literally at the center of everything happening in the story, or, even more, keep tabs on the extra characters, liek you're telling me there's nobody else in the democratic party who might've needed to keep tabs on Peter when he got arrested at the beginning of the story?

Feet?
I’m watching HoC and am on season 3, and had noticed throughout all seasons that there seems to be a particular interest in Claire’s feet. Has anyone else noticed this?

Spoilers I wanna see a series about Janine Skorsky finishing Frank.
I am at episode 43 or so. I love the series. Frank has been shot. I hate the guy for all his corruption. And therefor** **I like to see a spinoff series or so about Janine Skorsky going after Frank and finish him. Not the killing that will happen in s5. I want Frank behind bars haha.
Question: does anybody know a fanfiction or something like that has something like this?

Would the US media really televise a public execution like Frank wanted
When ISIL killed that one hostage and Frank televised it. Would America really just show a public execution to the peoples?

Are seasons 3-6 worth watching?
I’m currently watching the show and am midway through season 2. Ive heard seasons 1 and 2 are the only good ones. Should I watch the other seasons or just stick to 1 and 2?

Spoilers Fuck Tom
I have nothing else other than tom and Claire’s relationship is genuinely disgusting and tom is one of the slimiest, and nastiest characters in TV imo

Will Conways combat story seems odd. Wasn’t he a fixed wing pilot? Was this ever explained?

House of Cards season 1-5?
We are looking for a scene in the show where the camera rotates slowly from behind, then around, and to the side/front of the main character, Francis Underwood. It is a slow rotation. Attached are screenshots from storyboards of a project that we are working on. These images are mirror of the shot in the House of Cards series and should guide you to finding the exact scene we are looking for. Once you find the scene & the shot, please note the season, the episode number, episode title, and the time stamp in the episode when the shot occurs. Thank you.

S1 Frank was not a Psychopath
Evil? Yes. Manipulative? For sure. Power hungry? To the highest degree.
But I would not class S1 Frank as a psychopath.
In the later seasons, yes. But I feel like the writing around him changed, and he became much more inhuman and remorseless in those seasons.
In S1 though, while he does display severe callousness and moral depravity, he seems to have some sense of humanity still in him. He seems to be able to feel remorse.
I think of the church scene, where he asks Peter to talk to him. He says that Peter is „hiding in his thoughts“. This does not sound like a man who took what he did lightly, much less enjoyed it. He sounds haunted - despite killing Peter with very little hesitation.
Also, his relationship with Claire is much warmer in the first season. There does seem to be genuine care and love there - despite how f‘d up both of them are. And his romantic relationship with his old schoolmate - he showed a lot of care for him too.
This is not me saying that Frank was deep down a good guy or something. Even before he killed Russo he was vile. But I do miss this complexity in the later seasons. I feel like it was more watchable when you could still see some kind of humanity in the character.

For god's sake the makers must have stopped making a scene out of the "liver transplant" thing, He is effing goddamn president of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. literally a turn off in a show which had very little respect for rules.

Opinion on my Ranking of the seasons?
Season 1 is Great.
Season 2 might be one of the best television seasons ever.
Season 3 is damn boring.Nothing really happens. This weird ,,artificial relationship „problem between Claire and frank is so boring „
Season 4 is good(especially if you've seen the series multiple times you begin to acknowledge how good season 4 is) .Because in Season 4 there’s a clear goal again for frank.Whenever he a a longtime goal or a clear goal/a clear opponent /problem to solve he is at his best.
season 5 is weird and l've never seen season 6 and I don't plan to

Why did Zoe switch up on Frank so quickly?
Rewatching and I’m on Chapter 9. Before Zoe’s colleague insinuates that she knows Zoe’s sleeping with a congressman then gives her advice not to “Fuck to the middle” her and Frank have a great (seemingly) symbiotic relationship.
After the advice she doesn’t want to sleep with Frank anymore and he respects her wishes but no longer gives her inside info. She then invites him over they have sex but her attitude now has completely changed where she is now disgusted at Frank for only giving info for sex.
That seemed kinda sudden? Was it really just that one comment from her colleague? She seemed totally understand the quid pro quo before but now immediately hates it?

Unpopular Opinion: Garrett Walker was always going to fail, even without Frank Underwood.
Let’s look at the facts: Garrett Walker was fundamentally unsuited for the presidency, and his administration was a ticking time bomb regardless of Frank’s sabotage. While Frank certainly accelerated his downfall and engineered the impeachment, Walker lacked the core traits needed to survive a four-year term in the House of Cards universe.
Here is why he was never going to succeed:
- He was Raymond Tusk's puppet. Long before the feng shui money scandal broke, Walker’s decision-making was entirely tethered to a billionaire outsider. A president who freezes out his own Chief of Staff to take midnight orders from an energy mogul is inherently fragile. Tusk’s corporate conflicts of interest were bound to blow up in the administration's face eventually.
- Zero political backbone. Walker couldn't handle pressure. When the teacher strikes hit in Season 1, or when foreign policy got tense with China, he consistently panicked. He didn't have the stomach for the brutal, transactional nature of D.C. politics.
- Abysmal judge of character. Even if we take Frank out of the equation, Walker’s political instincts were blind. He trusted blindly, delegated poorly, and isolated himself. If it hadn't been Frank manipulating him, another slick operator in Washington would have easily walked all over him.
- The "Maybe not impeached" caveat. You can argue he wouldn't have been impeached without Frank actively leaking data and whipping votes. But he absolutely would have been a paralyzed, one-term lame duck. Congress would have eaten him alive, his legislative agenda would have stalled, and he likely would have faced a brutal primary challenge from within his own party by year four.
Frank Underwood didn't break a great president; he just pulled the rug out from a weak one. What do you guys think? Would Walker have survived four years, or was he doomed from day one?
