I think I say it every year but “this was the best year of
Fishing yet” while Guiding flyin Moose Hunts.

Not that I intended on fishing tonight but after a quick hour-long session I managed to land this seabass. For such a cold and windy evening and potentially my last for a few months due to other commitments I was happy to catch.

I just got a 5’0 SPL-1101 Shakespeare ugly stik from someone who was getting rid of it for free, they said it was taking up space and they weren’t using it. From my limited research I’ve seen mixed opinions on them and I don’t have a lot of knowledge on rods, only ever used my marathon fortress II. Heading to upstate ny and planning on some fishing while I’m there, I know there’s some smaller largemouth bass but aside from that I don’t know, last time we were there we used some small telescopic rods and they worked fine. Any insight would help

I will be starting saltwater fishing from shore or maybe jetty, I would like to get some recommendations on what lures to buy as I don’t want to purchase something that doesn’t work.
Mostly fishing the Arabian Sea as I am in India.
I started with a white soft plastic peddle tail on a 10gram jighead.
So far no bites.

I usually have these in a bag, or stowed away in a box when on my boat or canoe. When i bring friends new to fishing i’m often helping choose their lures or rigging it up and i always had difficulty describing to them which box to take out or look into for x lure.
I figured this can help others too!

Was thinking of getting a couple of belly boats for cruising around my local lake. I can't seem to find information about HOW you kill the fish once you land it in your net? Is there a hard surface to whack it on? Do you just puncture the brain and **hope** you don't puncture your boat? I'm mostly thinking for my godson, who is 11 and for myself (an arm amputee) who both do great off the dock, pier, rocks, in the boat, etc... but wondering if belly boats would be possible? Thanks for your help in understanding!!

Got my PB today it’s not a huge one but I’ve only been fishing for about 2 and half months.

I’m going shark fishing, and need help on the type of bait I’m using, I don’t have availability to any bloody fish like blue fish or Spanish, or any sting ray, would black drum work fine? It’s completely legal where I am I can use over sized mullet but it’s been frozen for a while.

I moved over the summer and now have access to a stocked creek. I hadn't seen any trout during a handful of sessions over the past few weeks, but caught these two lil' guys in the last two days. Not sure if they're stocked or wild, but they seemed healthy and energetic.

Or is that not necessary? I won't be fishing in very deep water and the bait will be lying on the bottom.

I got two of these from the Berkley powerbait bargain box and another from Ollie’s (was gonna fish it on a chatterbait but it turned out to be the wrong size for that). I’m not sure how to fish them. I’ve tried a Texas rig before but they obviously didn’t look very natural then and didn’t get any bites. More recently I got some tungsten nail weights for Neko rig fishing, but have been wary about actually using them because they’re relatively expensive. However… if I were to slide one or two in the underside of a Gilly (secured w/ superglue of course) and then use either an EWG or screw lock hook, wouldn’t it basically function as a weedless swimbait? Would like to know what your thoughts are.

The boat ramp is only 200 yds away; you can tow it with the golf cart.

I fish normally from the beach in rocky structure and love using the current snipers. After a few times getting banged up in the rocks the jig loses it color and has these craters on the sides where it hit the rocks. So any jigs out there that are more durable than normal and are similar to the current snipers ?
