Even before i knew record was coming out, I wanted to play Extra to learn more about BB and Kiara who I only knew from FGO. Now that I've played Extra, it was kinda old and I'd rather play newer ones like Extella series ASAP. As an alternative, I started the CCC manga afterwards and I'm enjoying it but I can't help thinking I might still like playing CCC more than Extra, just that Extra took me forever as old games have a ton of grinding i don't really want to do that again. I already love the artwork in the CCC manga, I doubt the game is as mature as manga but could be wrong?

Moon Log Typewriter is the full script of Fate/Extra in two volumes. I recently played through Extra in Japanese while checking against Typewriter out of curiosity, and there's a small number of dialogues that didn't make it to the final game. Some have been translated elsewhere (like in the The Cutting Room Floor), for snippets of alternative routes like saving Leo, Julius, or both Rin and Rani.

But there are also random unused Servant lines, including a "bad" ending that's a sort of Servant ending (at least the script calls it a bad ending, but YMMV). I will be translating those here. My own comments in parenthesis.

To be honest, most of this is filler. I'd say the most interesting parts are the unused endings and the lead-up to them. If you only want to read that, Ctrl+F to "End of the War".

Week 1 Day 7: Are preparations complete? ②

(Vol 1, p162-163, event 7-2)
Time: Morning
Location: Hallway in front of 2-A

(Context: This seems like a mini-tutorial about gathering info in My Room. Not sure why they cut it.)

All Servants (with small variations in tone): "Master, the Elimination battle is finally here. Are you properly prepared? Outfitting ourselves at the Commissary is important, but we still don't know the opponent's True Name."

All: "Let's go back to My Room to organize our information. With this much information,"
Saber: "it's only natural that we will figure out her True Name."
Archer: "we should be able to arrive at her True Name."
Caster: "I'm sure we will arrive at the truth!"

All (with small variations in tone): "Let's go back to My Room to organize our information. Although I don't know if the information we have will be enough to figure out her True Name…"

Week 4 Day 2: Aren't they here today?

(Vol 1, p430-431, event 2-6)
Location: Arena 1st Floor Entrance

(Context: On week 4, Run Ru or Gatou appear on the Arena on day 1, blocking access to the Trigger. But they leave on day 2. This dialogue should trigger when entering the Arena on day 2, but doesn't.)

Saber: "It seems like those people aren't here today. Let's take this opportunity to continue exploring, Master."

Archer: "Oh, it seems like those guys didn't show up today. It's a good chance, why don't we continue exploring?"

Caster: "Ah, I don't sense any presence today. Which means… it's a lovey-dovey date day with my Master, isn't it?"

Hakuno: "It's true, I don't feel the strange presence I sensed yesterday. What Rin/Rani told me is weighing on my mind, but for now I'll focus on the exploration. Because, for one reason or another, yesterday we barely made any progress."

Week 4 Day 2: Encounter ②

(Vol 1, p431-433, event 2-7)
Location: Arena 1st Floor

(Context: Normally, the game forces you to encounter your Week 4 foes on the Arena on day 1. You can't leave the Arena or use Return Crystals until you find them. Then on day 2 they won't appear. But this entry suggests that at some point it might have been possible to skip that day 1 encounter, and instead meet them in the Arena for the first time in day 2.)

| Heroine: Rin |

(Run Ru's gimmick in Japanese is that she mostly speaks without kanji. They localized this as alternating uppercase and lowercase. I will translate this normally, just keep in mind that everything she says sounds childish.)

Run Ru: "Huh? Something's here…"

Hakuno: "Hearing a creepy voice I turned around, and there stood a skinny clown, Run Ru…"

Run Ru: "Call me Lil' Ronnie, okay? I would be sad if you didn't. My real name is sad. Lil' Ronnie is Lil' Ronnie. I'm a popular clown, you know? So will you give me some of that meat?"

Hakuno: "Could this be a man-eating oni? I can't read any emotion from that dark, sunken face."

Lancer (Vlad): "Oh… wife of mine. How lamentable, for your consciousness to drift away from hunger. Hm, my apologies, worthy opponent. My wife is currently drifting in a world of dreams. Thus, I shall start by slaughtering you!"

Saber: "Ugh, there has to be a limit to how unreasonable a person can be! If the Master is like this, the Servant must be just as bad! Although… I sense an eerie power coming from that Servant. Be on your guard, Praetor!"

Archer: "What in the world is that? Wanting to eat us… she's got quite the twisted taste. However, I sense some kind of ominous power coming from that Servant - it looks like we have no choice. Prepare yourself, Master. Now, let's go!"

Caster: "Hm… Hmmm. Absolutely not! The only one that gets to eat my Master is me! I mean… aah. Not… like that. It was a figure of speech. Really. That aside, I feel like a strange eerie feeling spreading from that Servant… It looks like we have no choice. Let's go, Master!"

| Heroine: Rani |

Gatou: "What do you think you're doing, young monk / young girl?"

Hakuno: "Hearing an angry roar, I turn around to find a large man entirely covered in religious symbols - Gatou."

Gatou: "How dare you intrude without permission upon the sacred training ground provided by my god! Even if Ahura Mazda were to forgive such conduct, the eyes of my god here present shall not!!"

Hakuno: "While he continues displaying his usual inconsistent views on religion, his anger (?) comes across clearly." (That '(?)' is part of the script. Hakuno is as confused as we are.)

Gatou: "I see, I see, I see! Young monk / young girl, you're saying that you wish to train as well! If so, I accept your challenge! O god, this trial that you bestow upon me, this humble servant shall overcome splendidly!"

Saber: "Umu, that barbarian is impossible to reason with! I sense a kind of eerie power coming from that Servant, but we have no choice. Brace yourself, Master!"

Archer: "Good grief… He's really impossible to reason with. I sense a kind of eerie power coming from that Servant, but we have no choice but to fight. Prepare yourself, Master! Now, let's go!"

Caster: "Hmph… That muscle-head doesn't listen to a word we say. If he's like this, he'll never be popular (with girls). I'm calling it now! Though I feel a strange eerie feeling spreading from that Servant over there… but it looks like we have no choice but to fight. Let's go, Master!"

(From here, it proceeds to the same scenes as day 1.)

Week 4 Day 5: Confronting the enemy!

(Vol 1, p464-465, event 5-2)
Location: Arena 2nd Floor Entrance

(Context: This is the day of the 2nd Carnivore hunting event. You are forced to fight your foes at some point. This line would have triggered when entering the Arena.)

All (with small variations in tone): "Master, that guy will likely arrive shortly. Let's intercept him in (a place where we hold the advantage for battle / an advantageous position / a place that gives us good vibes). That's right. Let's hope there's an open area nearby."

Week 5 Day 6: 6th day Summary

(Vol 2, p111-112, event 6-4)
Time: Night
Location: My Room

(Context: At the end of most days, you get a brief chat with your Servant recounting the events of the day. But on this day, that conversation instead gets replaced by the one where your Servant unlocks their Noble Phantasm. But the ordinary unused conversation is still in the script.)

Saber: "So at last, (the battle) is tomorrow. Looking back, this battle has been a hardship after another. But, each time you stood your ground. I, too, was saved by you. It was a reversal of roles, but it actually made me happy, you know? …Umu. You have grown a lot. Now all that's left is to show those two the fruits of your labor. Get some good sleep tonight, Master. During tomorrow's Elimination Battle, I promise you a 『Stage』 worthy of your efforts."

Archer: "…It's finally time for the Elimination Battle. Looking back to these five rounds, this has been one crisis after another. Honestly, I thought I had reached my limit. But each time you stood back up and pushed forward with your own two hands. I will answer that courage. In tomorrow's Elimination Battle, I will give everything I have with the secret arts of wrought iron."

Caster: "Finally, it's the Elimination Battle with that gloomy guy! Looking back, this fifth round has been one crisis after another, the kind that would move anyone to tears… When I received that surprise attack, I seriously saw the realm of the dead. As in, a 'Tamamo plunging headlong into the underworld' kind of thing? But each time, Master stood up and fought hard so that we wouldn't lose to that assassin duo! To reward that determination and tenacity, tomorrow I'll show you everything I've got! Please look forward to it, Master♥"

End of the War

(Vol 2, p449-451 & p453-454)

Do you know how at the end of the game Twice Pieceman explains his philosophy, and then you're offered five response choices? The first four choices are different ways to call him out. The fifth choice is "…I can't honestly say he's wrong", where Hakuno agrees with Pieceman but still won't collaborate because touching the Holy Grail would mean deletion. The script calls this "Choice E". Keep that in mind. All choices lead to the final boss battle regardless.

The script accounts for four possibilities: saving Rin, saving Rani, saving Leo, or not saving anyone. Dialogue changes slightly in each case. Funnily enough, the script classifies Leo as a heroine for branching purposes. Anyway, after defeating Saver Buddha, he vanishes. Then Hakuno thinks:

"…I see now. He did not support Twice's ideals. Instead, he was showing compassion for the soul of the human known as Twice Pieceman."

From here, dialogue changes depending on who you saved. But this is the most interesting branch:

Saber: "So this marks the end of our Master-Servant contract. Though I wouldn't have minded another battle or two."

Hakuno: "I would say she looks disappointed, but perhaps that would be a mischaracterization. Although she does at least look bored." (As in, now that the action has stopped.)

Saber: "What do you intend to do now? From what that man said, it seems that obtaining the Holy Grail is impossible."

Hakuno: "Every Master's goal is to obtain the Holy Grail, have their wish granted, and then return to the real world. But since I lack a physical body, connecting to the Grail would mean my own erasure. The real world is not a place I can return to."

Saber: "As I said before, I still feel a bit unsatisfied. I have no objection to you remaining as my Praetor for a while longer."

|| Archer ||

Archer: "…Changing a wrong history, huh. I suppose if one looks at the past and the present in the way that guy does, one might become seized by such obsessive delusion…"

Hakuno: "If one is to start over, it must be from the present, not from the past. Correcting a mistake is the duty of the people of that era. Twice Pieceman. Who are those words meant for? The Servant clad in red mutters bitterly."

Archer: "So… what do you plan to do now? The Holy Grail has now become a meaningless object."

|| Caster ||

Caster: "…That Servant… He wasn't fighting because he sympathized with his Master, was he? He felt pity for that person, and became a Servant in order to guide him. But fundamentally, they could never understand each other. Pieceman… That person wasn't peace, he was a broken piece itself¹. Anyway, enough with the gloom! To think you won even against someone like that. Master truly is number one! I would like to fight by your side lots and lots more but… this really is the end of the Holy Grail War, isn't it?"

(¹Not entirely sure. She says Pieceman is not 平和 but 欠片, not peace but a broken fragment/piece. Might be a play on words on the fact that in Japanese, the English loan words for "peace" and "piece" are written the same. As in, Twice's surname is pi-suman (ピースマン), which could mean both Pieceman or Peaceman.)

Hakuno: "The Servant speaks with a hint of loneliness. But, as if realizing something, her voice suddenly brightens."

Caster: "Ah… Since Master does not actually come from the outside world, you don't have any place to go home back to, right? And since it seems like the Holy Grail is of no use to you… That being the case, wouldn't it be nice if you just stayed here with me forever?"

Hakuno: "I shake my head at my Servant's words. What I must do has already been decided, and for that I will be needing the Holy Grail. As the winner of the Holy Grail War, there is a wish that I will entrust to the Grail."

(From here it continues as in the game. Hakuno goes to the Grail with the intention to wish for the War to end. If you saved Rin/Rani/Leo, they have some lines. If not…)

Saber: "I see. If the victor desires that laurel wreath, then I have no words to stop you."

Archer: "Even if you do such a thing, there will be no benefit in it for you. But alright, that too is the victor's privilege. You may go ahead and fulfill your final duty."

Caster: "…That's true, isn't it. Master, you already know exactly what you want to do. Even without someone like me saying unnecessary things."

Hakuno: "My Servant accepted my decision surprisingly easily. We had been together through all of the Holy Grail War. Perhaps they had known from the very beginning that I would do this. I step forward. Towards the center of the room, towards the core of the Moon Cell, towards the Holy Grail. And then, slowly extending my hand towards the Grail…"

(From here it again continues as in the game. Hakuno does their thing, and their Servant intercedes to gain them some time before the Moon Cell deletes them, saying the same lines as in the game. Then…)

-> Go to normal ending. (This is an alternate ending not in the game.)

So, to recap, if you save any of Rin/Rani/Leo, you get the true ending (the ending that's actually in the game). If you don't save any of them, then picking choice E leads to the bad ending, and any other choice leads to the normal ending (the boss fight happens in all cases).

Normal Ending

(Vol 2, p457)

(This entire ending is an inner monologue by Hakuno. It does not depend on your Servant.)

"Was it because my Servant helped me? Or was there some other reason? A brief moment, stretched in time. Thanks to that, my wish was granted. …However, time has ran out. The irregular data is being disassembled. Disassembled down to the smallest unit. And while my ego and everything else begin to vanish, the scene I saw in my dreams comes back to me. This is probably what my living self and Twice saw in their final moments."

"He found value in war. While hating war, he accepted its fruits. Just like so many nameless people."

"I was the same. I was yet another spectator. But now, I wish that such a scene is never seen again. That no one ever sees a scene like this. That longing must be what brought me here. That's why I only have one wish right now. Even though it will now no longer reach the Grail. And even though the world has stagnated and we cannot predict how things will turn out. A wish that has nothing to do with war will surely lead people towards the future."

"Believing in that. In the moments until I vanish, I continue to wish…"

Bad Ending

(Vol 2, p492-493, event 1-10)

Hakuno: "Even so, I proceed towards the Grail. Even if I'm disassembled and fade away, perhaps I could have at least one wish granted. …Such an option might or might not have been possible. However, after hearing Twice's words, a thought occurred to me. That perhaps that's how it is. Perhaps his words are correct. Perhaps war is necessary for humanity. Perhaps that is the correct course of history. Now that I've thought of it, I can't afford to just fade away any longer."

"At some point the Holy Grail War will begin again, and they will come here. A Master with the right qualifications that has won fairly. Since Twice is no more, I must be the one to convey his words in his place. How the next victor will judge these words, I do not know. As the one that couldn't fully deny his words and then struck him down, that is my duty to fulfill."

|| Saber ||

Saber: "…Haa. Honestly, you're such an upright man / woman. It cannot be helped. I shall join you in this. Although becoming that man's successor is a position a little lacking in elegance… To be honest, I thought that getting to the end of the Holy Grail War only to meet a man like that was far too drab. So in that regard, you and I are a perfect match for this. Because the final battle ought to be against the strongest of existences. Umu, since that's decided, I shall open a workshop! Despite how I might look, I am quite the blacksmith. Before the next battle, I shall unveil the dazzling figure of my full armor!"

Hakuno: "Saber is in such high spirits that she might be able to just beat down anyone who comes our way. If that happens, we truly would end up becoming like Twice."

|| Archer ||

Archer: "…I fail to see how much meaning there is in conveying the thoughts of that man. However, if all we have to do is deliver the message, I have nothing to complain about. Whatever they are told, it will be up to the person who listens how to judge it."

Hakuno: "Archer looks dissatisfied, but doesn't object. Perhaps he too is curious, about what kind of judgment will be made by the next victor of the Holy Grail War. If that person were to think that war is the correct choice, I wonder what he would do. Would he challenge them to a fight, or would he…"

|| Caster ||

Caster: "Then, that means I get to stay with my Master from here on out, right? I'm so happy! No matter what opponent comes here, I will deal with them! That way, we can stay together forever and ever, right?"

Hakuno: "Caster is absolutely itching to beat someone up¹. My plan was simply to deliver a message, but now I'm getting a little uneasy about whether it will end that simply."

(¹There's a play on words here. Normally, yaruki (やる気) means drive or enthusiasm. But here, the script writes yaruki (殺る気) in a way which would mean something like "intent to kill".)

Hakuno: "In any case, that's a conversation for when the next victor arrives. Now, in this place, we wait for that moment to come. Once more, a large number of Wizards will arrive, and kill each other until only one remains at the end. If Twice's words are correct, then this struggle for existence must be affirmed. A war that is to be hated, and yet is necessary. If I myself reached this far through such a process - then, Wizards of the digital world. Let us once again commence the Holy Grail War. Believing that the next blade will be made out of an even stronger wish."

I’ve just finished doing a Nero Rani route and a Tamamo Rin ng+ route in extra but I don’t feel like playing a 3rd time for archer.

And I’ve chosen him for my CCC playthrough so is there anything I should know for context or for the dynamic with hakuno or just any good moments in general?

I’m playing the game on PPSSPP. I initially had all the cheats activated, but I disabled them afterwards.

I’m currently at the part in the Labyrinth where Rani traps you and you have to fight 3 enemies. Whenever I complete the fights, however, the completed fights counter still stays at 0.

How do I fix it?

Something i would like to see if possible is another Fate/Extella game that adds more servants because i was talking with a friend about the game and she said that it would be cool if another Fate/Extella game came out and had like Mordred, Mash, and the alter versions of the different servants that have them etc. ( she basically listed a lot of characters including a lot from grand order and i sat there for 2 hour and 50 minutes just listening to her talk about it)

I liked the original fate extra but I just cant get into CCC, I still wanna know its story though

Certain things about extra record makes me think there is slightly more than what we're being shown. Potential evidence 1. Back a few years people spotted a new character the girl in pic 1 we don't know anything about her except this potential design hell we don't know if she was scraped. but if she is in the game her design seems slightly too good to just be one of the random masters. Potential evidence 2. The shades man in pic 2 he seems suspicious he is from a promotional Mouse mat I think that you can get form preordering at a specific location. The weird thing is only masters and servents that you play as or fight are on the mat so he is clearly important. Another interesting observation if you look at pic 3 is that except for Hakuno and Alice and the man with shades every master has there servent to the left of them from our view point. However the man with shades is at the very end of the right of the mat so theoretically there could be someone next to him but we don't see because they are off camera. Maybe the white hired girl making the shades guy her servent. I have no idea I'm just putting things out there. A third potential piece of evidence is they are going to do demo events and during them you can get a promotional sticker of 1 of the 3 servents however there is a 4th sticker that is hidden we know it exists but we don't know it's design only it silhouette. It could be a potential 4th servent i highly doubt it I'm thinking it's either all 3 servents together the Hakuno's together or the Hakuno's and the 3 servents together but I find it interesting they are keeping it secret. Anyway what do you guys think.

This weekend there was the Gaming İstanbul convention in my home country and I was finally able to finish my Hakuno costume! This project took a lot of time to be done with and although it aint perfect, I am genuinely happy with what I've done. It is the Fate/Grand Order design and one day, hopefully, I'll be able to do Hakuno's other costumes as well. (Last image being: Kishinami Hakuno can now jump even higher!!!)
