For the longest time this subreddit was mostly film photos from cameras like the Holga and Diana. We've always allowed digital photos too, such as from the Gamyboy Camera or the Harinezumi for example.
Recently there have been a number of very popular digital cameras that have introduced people to the lofi aesthetic such as the many different thermal printer cameras, but also the Chuzhao and Kodak Charmera.
This is not bad, and they are welcome here! :)
But it can make it difficult to find specific types of content. This is where the post flair system comes in, since you can filter by these.
I have kept the flair system simple to begin with, we can add or change these if we need to, but let's start with the basic system and see how that goes.
I've added the following four post flairs, and made is so you have to select a flair when you post.
DIGITAL
For photos and video taken with digital toy cameras. This includes thermal print cameras.
FILM
For photos taken with film toy cameras.
DISCUSSION
For posts that are talking about toy cameras, such as asking advice, troubleshooting, etc.
META
For posts about the subreddit. This shouldn't see much use, it wil mostly be used by the mods for posts like this one.
Thoughts, comments, and feedback below. I want to try to keep this as simple to use as possible, so if you want any extra post flairs created, there would have to be a very good reason.

If not can you link to your favorite semi related discord if you use it?
Or if mods see this, can you guys make one?

I'm shooting at I believe 8M, please lmk if there's better settings for this camera. Its definitely more HD in the details than the $15 Target GEMS mini digicam, but has a much more VHS look to it. Audio quality on the video is surprisingly good for what it is, but unfortunately the video itself is VERY choppy (I'll be experimenting more with it). Thanks to everyone who let me know on my last post that this camera was a G6 knockoff! I'll get the right one one day, lol.
Edit: typo
Edit 2: maybe not the LK-030?

Hi
I am in Hong Kong. and I see clones of Camp Snap. The clones are like one-third the price of the authentic Camp Snap.
Is the clone similar quality wise?
Thanks!

Oh well lol! I'm still excited to use this little thing and see what kinda videos and images I can capture. It definitely looks somewhat better than my GEMS Target camera anyway!

It's surprisingly solid, surprisingly heavy (no doubt due to some added metal weights somewhere inside) and comes with a dedicated flash that is surprisingly powerful. The lens allows for multiple apertures although the shutter is fixed and while it did come with some filter 'hoods', these were just rolled up sheets of plastic with a gel taped to one end, so I ditched them.
Apparently there are bone and black and bone and orange versions available, and the shop I bought this one from had another on their shelves, but it was priced at $7 which is a bit over my toy-camera budget.

Camp Snap 2. Pics taken in NYC and NJ. Photos cropped and slightly adjusted in Photoshop, but taken with Camp Snap filters (mostly filters Dog Days and Expired, among others).
Pics 2 & 3 are a GFOTY concert. Pics 4 & 5 are from Darshan Day at the American Dream Mall.

Someone else posted their pingu keychain camera recently and I couldn't help but order myself one. I was very excited to open the box and I got one of the cuter cameras in my opinion, but unfortunately it does not seem to work.
I charged it for a couple of hours and the red charging light did come on and then eventually turned off, but that is the only sign of life so far. I have tried holding the button longer, I tried 3 different sd cards in it to see if it needed a card to work, and I have also tried the tiny reset button at the bottom that is supposed to reset everything when it stops working. Nothing makes it turn on. If anyone has any other suggestions, I will give them a shot, but I have already contacted aliexpress to start a return.
Having to return a blind box item is particularly annoying. I actually really liked the one I got and there is not guarantee of getting the same one again. Oh well the others are cute too.
My unboxing photos were taken with a G6.

Camp Snap V105 was on sale since the newer models are now out. I know the CS2 and the CSPro has built in filters which you can change on the go. But I love how purposeful pre loading a filter on the camera feels like what kind of film am I going to use today βΊοΈ
Used with the Zeus Filter from Camp Snapper.

Hey ya!
Soooo i made this digicam using an esp32cam, ov5640 5mp cam module, and it has a 1.3" tft display that shows live view.
the cam is fully open sourced, you can find it on my github. (hey be sure to leave a star if you can!)
so y'all can build it yourselves, although you will have to do some soldering.
github: https://github.com/Bogey1309/PocketCam-Classique
i havent put it in a case yet- i do have the cad for it however, if any of you want to make it, you can put it in the case too.
unfortunately it does not take videos. but the photos look really y2k in my opinion.
(see the last 5th and 6th images)
also; i do not earn anything from this- just clarifying. its fully open sourced and i wanted to share this with y'all.
(credits to hack club for helping me build this)
