Not really. The bugs are non-sapient after Super Earth did some pretty horrific genetic engineering to lobotomize them, with their war being more of a (completely justified mind you) attempted escape.
The bots were ideologically messy in the first game, nominally starting out left wing in their stance on workers rights, but drifting more and more into eugenics as the game progressed, and I personally think the way super earth treats them is closer to a Soviet Gulag than anything else.
The Squids though are absolutely fighting a retaliatory war, they’re just doing some incredibly fucked up stuff in the process, but from their perspective, it is justified.
Personally, I’d consider HD to be an example of Grimdark, with only the Squith in the first game and the Bugs in the second being morally superior to anyone else in the setting

I'd say its more the converse of this trope. Super earth is more the villain and aggresor in the lore

It's one of those comedic Sci-fi fascist Earth's that many (stupid) people won't get the joke on. Like Starship Troopers.
