Hated Tropes Things meant to be progressive just end up being incredibly offensive

What If - In one of the comics Miles becomes Thor, and it's full of stereotypes about black people such as the Mjolnir having graffiti on it and the infamous "by Odin's fade"

Emilia Perez - Everything about the movie

It's just the most cringe shit. I am one of the alphabet mafia and when this came out I was mortified. I am surprised they didn't name a character a slur.

it just occurred to me that some clueless writer probably WOULD add a street gang called "the alphabet mafia" as an adversary eventually if the book had come out

I learned about them by accident and it took me a few minutes to realize it wasn't satire. It feels like a rightwing caricature of queerness.

It really does. I thought it was a shit joke about "haha woke snowflakes amirite!" Realizing it was real was far more horrifying. I was begging them to not do this.
