Hated Tropes Things meant to be progressive just end up being incredibly offensive

What If - In one of the comics Miles becomes Thor, and it's full of stereotypes about black people such as the Mjolnir having graffiti on it and the infamous "by Odin's fade"

Emilia Perez - Everything about the movie

Snowflake might’ve worked in the hands of a better writer. They were non-binary with ice powers, so they could be reclaiming an insult used against them. But again, that would require a good writer.

Yeah, I think pairing them with someone named Safespace was way, way too much. Like. maybe if they were on the same team but unrelated it might be ignorable, but making them explicitly a pair of siblings with similar outfits and even hairstyles makes it impossible to take either of them seriously.

Biggest problem with snowflake and safespace is that they're mean to be non-binary, but are clearly designed as male and female.

"Non-binary" is not the same thing as "androgynous." They can absolutely look male or female.

Snowflake is non-binary, Safespace isn’t.

I remember seeing a redesign of both Snowflake and Safespace that made both gender-fluid, but predominantly female and male presenting respectively. The two were designed were like a pole dancer and pimp, but I vaguely remember sketches of them presenting as the opposite gender, but still with the same roles.

Basically Snowflake was always the pole dancer, but could be a male or female pole dancer whereas Safespace was always the pimp, but could be a male or female pimp.

No one read it! How could you possibly know what could or couldn’t have worked?

“Preemptively canceled” means that it didn’t work.

The whole event the series was part of was cancelled due to Covid.

Many books were canceled because of disruptions due to covid. I’m not optimistic it would have been good but this comic which was never published and has never been read has morphed into this woke boogeyman. Maybe it was satirical. Maybe it wasn’t. Speculating about how it could have worked in the hands of a better writer about a story neither you nor anyone has read is literally insane. This is so fucking stupid.
