i think the writer was paid per racist stereotype. like he had random shoes hanging on wires. kept confusing things seen in poor urban areas with black culture.

I understand that this is well into "deranged conspiracy theory" territory, but I occasionally think that comic writers back then were either ragebaiters or approved by ragebaiters hoping to get some cheap publicity when people brought it up to tear it to shreds.

Also, Snorri Sturluson's euhemerisation of Norse Mythology in the prologue to the Prose Edda already had Thor be the son of Memnon and one of the daughters of Priam, last king of Troy, and he wrote that in the early 13th century. Memnon was the king of the Ethiopia, which was allied to Troy in the war. So the idea of Thor being black is not a new concept.

Bruh...it's a "What If". As in, what if X was Y. Characters are routinely placed in the role of other characters. Like Captain Carter being a what if of Peggy as Captain America. It's not a race swap.

Also, while I'm commenting; "By Odin's fade" is funny. Not offensive at all. Beards can have fades too. Be upset about ghetto, "hood" Asgard; not this!
