What’s the one comment/opinion/criticism (could be about the film itself or performance, direction, etc) that makes you question Sean or Amanda’s sanity.
I say this with love and a huge fan of the pod :)

On an episode of The Town this week, Matt Belloni predicts bonus material will be added to You Can See Everything when it hits streaming, which I think sounds incredible.
Is this something you'd want? What do you hope gets added?

I'm Gen Z and came in with very little context about the Theranos case whereas my partner did.
We were surprised that there were a lot of people laughing throughout the entire movie, even in normal or serious moments. I'm not talking about the intentionally comedic moments. I'm talking about regular dialogue where Nathan was having a conversation and asking probing questions.
Did anyone else have the same experience? Was anyone else surprised? Maybe I would have felt differently if I was more well read on the case
edit: I think I wasn't clear enough what I meant. Manyyyy of the comments are describing moments I also laughed at. I'm talking more about laughing any time Nathan appeared on camera even during serious conversations, like the one with her father

I was incredibly bummed to miss this event last night featuring two of my favorites movies. I’m curious if anyone here that was in attendance could recap it, since this one is almost certainly not going to be an episode. What did Sean say he loves about Halloween III? What did Amanda think of it? Etc, etc.

Very strong WOM and an awards season push might take this movie to $75M+

It is not about it being hard to be a dad, it is about it being hard to be a son. It doesn’t become easier just because your dad has died. It feels like the pod has become even more allergic to anything earnest as of late, but I found the dad stuff effective in this movie. I found it clunky at first and didn’t know it AA was up to the task, but I thought when the two disparate stories align, they achieve a narrative symbiosis that works. I did not experience the third act as literal but more as the narrative created by a literally dying oxygen deprived man in immense pain to find his way through. Everything we see and n the water once he is in the whale is up for debate as to if it “really” happens in the story of the movie, just like the whale’s communication with him. I found that narrative unreliability and magical realism interesting and kept it from getting overt saccharine.

Written by Scott Barkan and Gregg Zehentner (Into the Dark, Edge of Fear), the thriller centers on a former police detective serving a life sentence who is diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Granted compassionate release with six months to live, he returns home to the estranged daughter he left behind and a grandson he never knew existed. Like most honorable ex-cons, he only wants to make amends and forget his dark past. But, as Amazon’s logline intones, his dark past has not forgotten him. (Cue dramatic sound effect.)
