Pandora is out of the box now, she ain't going back in. Plus I still work Fridays and I like the peace and quiet along with not having to deal with people at least one day. But when necessity requires a Friday production run everybody lines up to work that shift since their getting overtime pay that day.
Basically all road maintanence in my city is done with 4x10.
The reason? We city boys don't know how to hold a shovel, so all the guys doing the work are shipped in from the countryside were people learn how to drive a tractor before they learn how to write. Most of them go home to their hometowns in the weekend because of the cost and their families.
Road crews where I live work up to 24 consecutive 16-hour days. They have a section carved out in the labor laws for them. Only a few months a year to work on asphalt up here.
Dude, you show a stunning lack of imagination concerning the stupid shit managers are capable of. Never underestimate humans capacity to screw up a good thing!
At my work we do 9 hr days mon-thursday with Fridays being on/off with on days being 8 hr days, I enjoy it a fair bit but def would be open to doing 4 10s
My old job used COVID as an excuse to kill their 4/10s schedule after years of the execs hinting that they wanted to drop it and asking if anyone wanted to swap to 5/8s (no one ever did).

Awesome, sounds like a resounding success!
So obviously the next course of action is to cancel it and to go back to 5 days right?
