Rooting LineageOS 24 (Android 17) officially supported on Amazon Fire Max 11 đŸ”„đŸ”„

LineageOS is officially supported. That means a massive jump in terms of software updates from Android 11 (Fire OS) to Android 17 (LineageOS 24).

The first official build should arrive next week. That means I am going to flash all my devices to Android 17.

Thanks LineageOS Devs <3

Software Update Can I update to Fire OS 6?

I currently own a Kindle fire HD 10 7th generation, and it's currently running on OS 5.7.1.0, there's some apps like Max and such that I want to download on here, but cannot because they require the device to be on at least OS 6. Can anybody help me out?

Physical Device Is the Fire HD 10 worth it?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I bought the fire HD 10 on a whim due to the current sale making it less than 100 dollars (it has yet to arrive). I would like to strip out as much of Amazon's bloatware is I possibly can, and/or flash a more competent android image onto it (lineage, etc).

My current understanding is that I could sideload apks just fine, but are any of that other aforementioned things possible, or should I be getting ready to return the product?

For reference, I wanted to primarily use it as a nice large screen media device (videos, manga, etc.)

What are the community's thoughts on this device at this price point?

Fire Kids Tablets Fire Kids Tablet 11 (Appstore)

Title: New Amazon Fire Kids Tablet 11 – Netflix and Disney+ won’t show up in the child profile
Hi everyone!
We got the new Amazon Fire Kids Tablet 11 today, and I’m honestly starting to lose my mind trying to set it up. 😅 I was wondering if anyone here has experience with the new model and could help me out.
We previously had the older Fire HD 8 Kids tablet, where I had set up a separate child profile for my daughter. We had apps like Netflix and Disney+ installed on that tablet.
However, these apps haven’t transferred to the new tablet. What’s even more confusing is that the new tablet doesn’t seem to have the Amazon Appstore at all – it only has the Google Play Store.
I can download Netflix and Disney+ without any problems from the Google Play Store using my adult profile. I’ve also allowed the relevant content in the Amazon Kids Parent Dashboard. However, neither app shows up in my daughter’s profile.
I even installed the Google Play Store in her profile, but Netflix and Disney+ don’t appear there at all.
My questions are:
Does anyone have the new Amazon Fire Kids Tablet 11 and managed to get Netflix and Disney+ working in the child profile?
Is there a way to make apps installed in the adult profile available to the child profile?
Do I need to configure something in Google Family Link, or is there another workaround?
I’d rather not use the adult profile for my daughter, as I want to keep proper parental controls in place, especially when it comes to screen time and app access.
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you can share. Thanks in advance! 😊

Physical Device Can't Log In To Websites That Use Cloudflare

Apparently, something on my tablet is preventing me from being able to log in to any websites that use Cloudflare to check to see that we're not robots.

It's very frustrating. I haven't been able to log in to Forthright, a survey website, for months now. I have to keep asking for a link to view my account on there. I've been using the site for years and never had any problems until they started using Cloudflare. It said something about an ad blocker being the reason why. Do you know how I can remove this on my Amazon Fire tablet? Or do you have any other solutions? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Apps I built a Fire tablet app that makes my kid answer a few flash cards before the games unlock

Full disclosure, I made this. Solo dad, not a company.

Our Fire tablet was the reward for everything, and I was always the one keeping track of the time. So I built Ejuu.

How it works on the tablet:

  • The kid answers a few quick questions (math, spelling, grammar, ages 4 to 12) and earns minutes.
  • The minutes go into a bank that never expires, and they pick when to spend them.
  • When the time runs out, Ejuu takes the screen back from whatever game they were in and goes back to the questions. I do not have to be the timer.
  • Parents set it up and approve chores or bonus minutes from a phone web page. Nothing to install on your phone.

Fire specifics, so nobody wastes their time:

  • It is on the Amazon Appstore. I tested it on a Fire HD 8 (12th gen). Other Fire models should work, but I have not verified them.
  • It runs in a regular Fire profile. I have not built it around Amazon Kids profiles.

If you try it on a different Fire model, I would really like to hear if anything breaks. Happy to answer setup questions here.

How do you update Amazon Appstore if that comes from OTA update?

I’ve tried checking for updates from settings in parent profile but nothing.

Anyone come across this?

Appstore How do i install the latest version of the appstore on my amazon fire tablet?

Post image
6 Upvotes

So this started around 10pm last night; or at least that's when I noticed it. I went on roblox to play with my friends, and this message popped up, saying:

"New Appstore version required, Amazon Appstore is out of date. Please visit the Amazon website to install the latest version of the Appstore."

There are two options. You can either choose Quit, or Help. When I choose help, it takes me to a page on the Amazon website, talking about how Amazon Appstore on Android has been discontinued, even though it says that was August of 2025. I'm not even on Android.

And if I choose quit, it just takes me to my normal tablet screen, obviously.

I can't find anything about this online at all. I've tried clearing the cache, looking for system updates, and also looking in every single setting on the Amazon website. I'm honestly stumped, and I have no idea how to install the "latest version", since mine is apparently out of date. I'm hoping someone will see this and have a solution for me.

I have a fire hd 8 (10th gen) and a fire hd 10 (11th gen) and after being forced to update Roblox in the appstore they both failed to launch saying I need an Appstore update. Roblox is now updated to the latest version released 14 October 2026

I have no system updates pending.

Anyone else having this issue?

Question Free Volume Boosters

I have the Google Play store sideloaded on all 4 of my Fire HD tablets. I have tried various free volume booster apps on all of them.

They all seem to work well for maybe an hour, but the volume level always slowly returns to normal level. It shows they are still active, but if I tap on them, the volume usually increases again for a short time before dropping again.

Has anyone else had this problem?đŸ€”

Apps Zippy Out! – free puzzle game on the Amazon Appstore for Fire tablets

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made Zippy Out!, a puzzle game, and it's on the Amazon Appstore for Fire tablets.

Tap a jelly Zippy and it zips off the board the way it's pointing. If something's in the way, it bumps and you lose a life. Clear the board. Every level can be solved, so there are no dead ends.

- 160 levels across 8 worlds

- Daily puzzle, 60-second Rush, Relax mode

- Map Maker to build and share your own levels

- Free, no account or sign-in. Ads are mostly opt-in

- Family-friendly

Amazon Appstore: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0HLXXSZZF

If you try it on your Fire tablet, let me know how it runs and which model you have.

Fire Kids Tablets Sudden Issues with Amazon Kids Account

We got a new Fire tablet for my daughter at the end of September. It’s been working out great so far. We brought it on a trip to visit my in-laws with no issues until today. When we got to the airport for our 2+ hour wait, I let her get on the tablet and she said none of the apps would work. I’ve started playing with it and sure enough every app I’ve added for her is not downloaded. I connected to the mobile hotspot on my phone and tried redownloading, but when we try to open them, they just go through the download process again and if I put it on airplane mode, they disappear completely when she clicks on them. I hadn’t changed any settings or adjusted anything before today. I don’t know why it’s suddenly not working. I even registered it again in hopes that might fix it. Hoping somebody has some ideas while we wait in the airport. Thanks!

Fire Kids Tablets Is the connection between kids profile and adult profile janky or what?

I have been having issues with updating apps for my kids profile quite a bit since I got this thing. None of the apps that my kid has downloaded show up in the adult profile setup on it whenever a game needs an update. But that's the only way to make an update to a game unless I uninstall/reinstall the app. Please tell me I am missing something that would show all the apps that need an update for my kids profile on my own.

Apps Give Your Kindle Fire a New Purpose With AppCarousel (Now on Amazon AppStore)

If you’ve got a Kindle Fire tablet — especially an older HD 8 or HD 10 — AppCarousel is now on the Amazon AppStore and it’s honestly one of the easiest ways to make your tablet feel useful again.

AppCarousel turns any Fire tablet into a personalised smart display. You can set it up to rotate your favourite photos, videos, widgets, and apps in a clean, minimal layout. It works great as a kitchen counter display, a digital photo frame, a simple home dashboard, or just a nice always‑on screen for your desk.

A lot of Kindle Fire tablets still have perfectly good screens and battery life but end up sitting unused. AppCarousel gives them a fresh purpose. It runs smoothly even on older hardware, supports OneDrive and Dropbox for remote photo updates, and is designed to work seamlessly with Fire OS.

If you’ve got a Fire tablet collecting dust — or you’re picking up a new one — AppCarousel is worth checking out. It’s now fully available through the Amazon AppStore and built with Fire users in mind.

Works in portrait or landscape, no ads, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.

Rooting Do older Fire Tabs work better with Lineage OS or Nura (formerly postmarketOS)?

I have a Fire Tab 7 7th gen from 2017 and was wondering which to use. Is one easier to install than the other? Does one have better support? Should I worry about battery life? Which takes more space (I have 8GB)?
