📸 Photo of the Month - September 2026

September 2026 Photo of the Month: Congratulations to /u/igneisnightscapes!

Our top pick for September is "ITAP of the Milky Way during 44 hours" by /u/igneisnightscapes. This photo pulls off something not many images do: it makes the vastness of the night sky feel focused and intimate while keeping the Milky Way sharp and clear. The observatory on the horizon gives the composition a strong anchor beneath the stars.

There’s a quiet stillness to the image that pulls us in without overwhelming the eye. The balance between the detailed sky and the dark landscape gives the shot its strength. Check out the photographer story behind the photograph in the comments section to understand the work behind the single moment it captures.

This month’s submissions were strong across the board, making this choice even more rewarding. Keep sharing your work and pushing your creativity forward. We look forward to seeing what you capture next!
