Bought a new guitar for the kids to play with. Wondering if the action is too high or I need to take it to a luthier??

Learned the other parts too and gave it a try to see how I manage. Still needs work, but it's ok for now.

It looked pretty cool, so I thought I'd share to get opinions/suggestions on how to manage this. Is Varnish enough?
I didn't sand the body, and directly painted on it using acrylic paints, and finished it off with spray-on varnish. It has dried but the finish feels odd, as though it would just drip away(?)
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
Here is my beloved Harley Benton fusion II
First of 5 Harley Bentons
It originally had a silver sparkle finish and the pickguard is only a placeholder since i wanted to make one but i was not sure about the shape
The headstock shape was also modified slightly
Now show me your workhorses!

Many moons ago I sold a Gibson Les Paul custom to pay off my bills and used the left over money to buy this Japan made schecter.
I thought it looked cool, like a suhr on a budget.
The pickups are Tom Anderson designed “super rock” or something humbuckers with giant pole pieces.
When I got the guitar, the neck was a baseball bat even compared to my Les Paul.
Pickups were extremely muddy and hard picking didn’t seem to make a difference in volume. Palm mutes were fuzzy and wooly.
Worst of all the truss rod was heel only like a vintage fender. I had to take the neck off the guitar to adjust it. I’ve never owned a guitar like that since.
I went into a guitar shop and played the newly released seafoam green Ibanez jem and immediately felt depressed. The feel of the neck and especially the focused sound of the dimarzio evolutions was what I was looking for.
I sold the guitar a month after buying it, ended up losing money. I still couldn’t afford the Jem, so I ended up without a guitar for a while.
Some people love this guitar I’m sure, but it just wasn’t for me.
Anyone got similar stories?

So I decided to pick up the guitar maybe about a month ago, been practicing when I can, and I just want to see if I’m making good progress so far. The song I’m playing in the video I only started learning like 3 days ago so give me same grace lol it’s not perfect.

This was a guitar I was tasked with providing information on and appraising for a friend of mines grandfather in law. It was left behind by his recently passed son and I ended up buying it. Its got a killer vintage dimarzio in the bridge (couldnt find any model markers on it, it just said Dimarzio) and it even came with a set of vintage Schaellers on it with im assuming replacement clear buttons. I really love this one.

(Pictured is James Burton.)
I will go full fingerstyle for a folky acoustic thing, where playing the bass strings with the flesh of the thumb sounds right, or playing nylon string but otherwise am hybrid for everything else. I think of it as a country thing but I know a lot of technical players in other genres do some form of hybrid picking too.
If you hybrid pick, did any specific players influence you to try? A lot of country guys, like Burton, Glen Campbell, etc. do some form of hybrid picking, so they were probably my first influence in going the hybrid route. Danny Gatton too, from his Hot Licks instructional videos.
Do you use natural nails/bare fingers, some kind of fake nail (Brent Mason) or fingerpicks (Burton)? Do you use your picking hand’s pinky? What flatpick? Is it heavy, medium etc.?

I own 5 electrics and none of them have a single coil pickup. I'm looking for my next guitar to have single coils, but can't decide on SSS or HSS.

My partner’s mom saw this bad boy at a garage sale and immediately bought it for me. Bless her. So obviously the first thing you do is get medieval and play Scarborough Fair - it doesn’t stay in tune at all and the action is a mile high but I still kinda love this thing

The differences between it and the SE are subtle but the pickups are “sweeter”, the neck a little bit more comfortable, and I absolutely love the look of the rosewood with the vintage natural finish. This model has become one of my favorites, it’s a great take on a Tele and even more versatile imo.

Which makes better regular acoustic guitars? Not electric-acoustic.

Hello guys, I need help.
I just bought my first guitar to learn how to play. It's a used one that I got for a pretty cheap price, so it had a few issues, but I managed to kinda fix them. Now I'm facing another problem that I can't figure out how to solve. I'm hearing a strange echo or ringing sound when I play the G string, and I can't figure out what's causing it.
Could it be something I'm doing wrong while playing, an issue with the string itself ( tho it looks fine to me and pretty similar to the others strings ) or is it something wrong with the guitar..?
If you've had a similar experience, any advice or information would be appreciated!

Original solo for my friend’s new release, I’m so happy I got to work on this track, even if it’s something so minute and superfluous as a guitar melody in a genre that doesn’t topically involve electric guitar at all. Anyway, I hope someone around here enjoys this selection of notes.

I only got as far as Alien ebe picks. Im curious if it's rare or some type of collectible but im keeping it anyways.
Edit: idk if it's visible in the pictures but the details are in gold foil.

I just bought my first ever U.S. made fender Stratocaster. It is a twenty-twenty five fender Professional II Stratocaster in Mystic Surf Green with a maple fretboard. I’m pretty stoked since it’s my first American made instrument, and I also paid only a thousand dollars for it. Cannot wait to get home and get it plugged in and play!

It's a basically new Harley Benton CST-24t and it's my first own guitar. Got it for like $200
I have a MIJ Jackson Dinky that I’m currently upgrading. I’ve already swapped the original trem for a Gotoh GE1996T, and I’m having some extra-jumbo frets installed.
I’ve settled on a DiMarzio Norton for the bridge, but I’m having a much harder time deciding what to put in the neck position.
I’m looking for a noiseless pickup, either a stacked single coil or a dual blade, that retains the woody character and snappy attack of a traditional Strat pickup, but with significantly more output.
The pickups I’m currently considering are:
DiMarzio Fast Track 1
DiMarzio Injector Neck
DiMarzio Chopper
DiMarzio Heavy Blues 2
For the middle position, I’m leaning towards either a True Velvet or Red Velvet.
I play everything from blues and fusion to 80s shred and high-gain lead work, with plenty of aggressive, fast alternate picking. Tight attack, note separation and clarity under gain are all desirable, but ultimately I don’t want to lose too much of that organic, woody single-coil character and response.
I’d also like enough output to avoid a dramatic perceived volume drop when switching from the Norton to the neck pickup, particularly under high gain.
Has anyone compared these pickups in the neck position? I’m particularly curious about their dynamics, tonal character and how they might balance with the Norton.
Any firsthand experience or recommendations would be appreciated!
