Question 🤔 How can Cultfit Acces My Gallery Image And Send It Me Back

Post image
• Upvotes

Actually, I will tell you what happened. I was checking my unseen WhatsApp messages when I saw a message from Cult Fit and clicked on it. I saw that they had sent me my fifth-semester subject notes. I clicked on them, and then what happened? I went to their app, but I have one question: how can they access my syllabus or images from my gallery?

Question 🤔 Having a very hard time deleting photos to clear my storage.

• Upvotes

What i’m trying to do is clear out my entire google photos app. I’m on Iphone and pay for cloud storage there. My problem is that when I delete photos on google, it also deletes it from the iPhone Photos app. I thought I could work around this by then going into the iphone app and recovering those photos, but then those re-appear in google photos. It’s like a snake eating itself. How can I stop that connection? I already turned off backup on the google app.

Edit:
I forgot to add that I tried deleting the google photos on pc but apparently those don’t delete the photos on my phone. Storage stays the same

I used Google Takeout feature. Now if I try to delete even a single file from that Takeout folder on my PC, file manager has a fit and stops responding.

Wtaf is going on?

Question 🤔 Why can Google Photos do advanced AI edits but still can't put a simple arrow or text on a photo in a desktop browser?

Just re-starting a common feature request.

This is a very relatable piece of functionality. The ability to add text, arrows, and shapes is one of the most useful (and easy) features of basic photo editing programs.

I would reckon Google could vibe-code this functionality at lunch time today and have it rolled out just like that.

It's a feature that would be beyond helpful and greatly appreciated by millions of users.

Maybe 2026 is the year they can finally add it?

Anyone agree? How can we fast-track this into development?

Troubleshooting ⚠️ How to easily delete old/unwanted photos?

I want to go through all my photos, and delete the ones I don't want anymore.

However, the delete key simply doesn't work. Shift+3 is a hotkey for delete but then I still get a popup when I need to press enter. And when I do this too quickly Photos completely lags and if I go too quickly this combination just stops working and I have to refresh the page.

It's really frustrating to do this, is there a better way?

Bug 🐞 Is anyone else experiencing these weird issues when editing Pixel phone photos with the app?

I seem to be experiencing several bugs related to Google Photos on my Pixel 8 Pro:

\* For the last several months I've noticed that sometimes after doing minor edits to a photo taken on my Pixel 8 Pro, the saved file in Google Photos will look corrupted. Sometimes it's got colored streaks or blotches, and sometimes it's "torn" like it's out of sync.

The weird part is, if I share that broken looking image via SMS or view it on Photos on a synced tablet or other phone, it looks completely normal! If I go and re-edit the saved photo, it looks like it should, and saving a second copy will usually make it look 'normal' in the gallery.

Does anyone else experience this, and does it sound like something worth reporting as a bug?

\* Another annoying issue I've found is that if I do just a minor edit like a crop and tap the "Save" button (which allows the image to be reverted later) that oftentimes I cannot share that image to another app like Google Voice. It throws some sort of "oops something went wrong" type error message. Sometimes the edited picture can't even be re-opened by Google Photos, and even though it shows uploaded to the cloud, it can't be opened by any other device like my tablet.

The only way around this is to tap the 3 dots and select "Save as copy" instead.

\* Perhaps the most perplexing issue is after using the Zoom Enhance feature on an image, if I saved that enhanced image, it doesn't correctly apply the Ultra HDR brightness levels to the saved image. The Ultra HDR brightness levels of the original, uncropped and unenhanced images are superimposed over the enhanced file, making the lighting look all wrong.

The only way to fix this is to either turn off Ultra HDR in the Pixel camera, or edit the Ultra HDR setting to zero either before or after using Zoom Enhance, or using the Unblur option after enhancing the image.

This is a problem I did report (last year!) but I've never seen any evidence that Google even acknowledged it.

Troubleshooting ⚠️ Memories feature won't go away despite disabling it in settings

When I go to Settings > Memories and disable all the toggles for everything (time-based memories, themed memories, etc.), memories are still displayed at the top of my main feed. I don't want that.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S24.

Any ideas?

Does this mean all my phone data will be uploaded to the drive and removed from my phone storage? What about the photos and videos I take in future? Does this include everything like WhatsApp images, documents, etc

Question 🤔 Google Photos and Google Drive

I'm setting up my mom's new laptop. She has all her photos automatically uploaded to Google Photos from her phone. But now that she has a laptop, she wants to have them stored locally on the new device so she can make physical, printed photo albums with them.

I figured the Google Photos app might be the solution here, but it doesn't seem to store anything locally. Unless I'm missing something.

Photos uses the same Google cloud storage as Google Drive though. So I thought, if I install Google Drive, it might create a local folder that has all the photos in it. Looks like it doesn't do that.

Is there some way to get all the photos that are uploaded to Google's storage from the phone, copied and backed up locally on a laptop?

Or do I have to explain to my mom how to regularly use Google Takeout to export her images, delete the duplicates, and keep everything up to date manually? In that case, it's probably easier to get her to move over to Dropbox instead, but she really likes the Photos app on her phone...

Question 🤔 Is there any way to override school controls on photos?

Back in around 2020 or 2019, I used my school account for google photos. I would like to see the photos that I had that were potentially lost to time, as I will be graduating and losing the gmail address next year. I also keep coming across the same screen when trying to log in which locks the google photos app in my phone to a certain screen where there is no way out of. Is there any way of getting in without contacting admin at my school and making this a whole big deal?

Bug 🐞 Crop and rotate broken

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

The crop and rotate feature has been broken for me for a couple of months now. Both the iOS (iOS 27 on an iPhone 15) and desktop browser (in latest Chrome) versions behave strangely. Tthe Android version seems to be fine.

In the browser version, selecting the crop tool immediately zooms in a bit, and there's no way to zoom back out. When resizing the photo, the gray guide lines also create a glitchy pattern across the image.

The iOS version has the same zoom issue, and the entire UI seems to be wider than the screen, causing parts of it to overflow.

Am I the only one experiencing these issues?

Question 🤔 The interface varies depending on the smartphone

Hello everyone,

I've been a Google Photos user on a Pixel 10, and I recently switched to a Pixel 11 Pro. I noticed the interface is quite different now.

On my Pixel 10, I had the option to organize the Collections page by favoriting albums, etc. Also, on the main page, I used to have just simple icons, but now I have text labels for the Photos, Collections, and Create sections.

(Note: The app is up to date.)

Could you please share screenshots or show me what your main Photos page and Collections tab look like? Thanks!

Question 🤔 Deleted backed-up photos/videos from Google Photos on Oct 5. Recovery tool failed. Any ideas?

I deleted a bunch of backed-up photos and videos on 5 Oct 2026 by mistake, and they were also deleted from Trash. They were in my Locked Folder with backup turned on. I've restored items from there before using Google's photo recovery tool, but this time it didn't work.

What I've tried:

Checked Trash, Archive and other accounts

Google's photo recovery tool (it failed)

Posted on X to Google Photos (their DM system glitched for me)

My theory: this time I deleted everything in the Locked Folder, leaving it empty, and that might be why the tool found nothing. Tomorrow I'll put one random photo in it and retry.

Questions:

Has anyone had the recovery tool fail, then work on a retry?

Does an empty Locked Folder affect the recovery process?

Is there a Google support route that actually opens a manual check?

Question 🤔 Risk of getting banned for medical photos of my son

Google scans all your photos looking for child nudity and other stuff they consider serious. When they find it, they send the photo with as much personal data from the phone as possible (metadata, location, email, phone, etc.) to NCMEC (a private organization). NCMEC then sends it to investigative agencies/police around the world.

There are a lot of cases where photos taken for medical reasons led to a full account ban, and even photos with no nudity, like deep wounds on a minor.

My son is 4, and he's had diaper rash, blisters in his groin, and phimosis-related problems. Any time I'm worried something might be serious, I take photos to track how it's progressing and show the pediatrician. I deleted some of the photos, but I'm sure there are more. The tag/search system doesn't work for this kind of photo.

Is anyone here in a similar situation? I think the only way to actually make use of Google's storage is to encrypt everything and put it in Google Drive.

Question 🤔 Google photos doesn't copy all my photos, even if it says it has

So, Google Photos is unable to recognize around 700 images on my phone, so it simply doesn't copy them. I don't know how to fix that.

Question 🤔 I have an old gmail I’ve been using for a long time which has around 350gb of media. I want to bring it to another Gmail account and phase out of the old one. What’s the best way to do it while retaining the albums?

I saw there was a way to export it using takeout but I wasn’t sure if it’s possible to keep the albums and basically do a carbon copy?

Also my old gmail I want to phase out is head of my household in Google family plan and I’m out of spaces for the new Gmail I want to move to. Not sure how I can transfer that one over but that’s a different issue.

Question 🤔 Google Takeout only transferred photos that are in albums?

Hi all, I recently used Takeout to transfer photos from Google Photos to iCloud. It successfully transferred all of the albums that I have in Google photos and all of the data seems to be correctly associated (date and location etc). However, the only photos that transferred seem to be ones that were in an album. Any others don’t appear in iCloud post-transfer. I read that they may have been sorted somewhere into a folder or album called “Photos from 2023” for example, but where would I find this? Thanks in advance!

Bug 🐞 How google does not correct bugs after 9 years forcing to buy storage

Rapport d'Analyse : Bugs Google Photos

Résumé de la problématique technique, des tentatives de résolution et de l'analyse des régressions

Équipement : OnePlus 12 (OxygenOS LAST VERSION)

Sujet : Consommation batterie & Saturation Cloud

Application : Google Photos (Dernière version)

Statut : Résolution par désactivation recommandée

1. Description des Problèmes Rencontrés

⚠️ Solution Radicale et Immédiate Retenue

  1. Désactiver complètement l'application Google Photos

Aller dans Paramètres > Applications > Gestion des applications > Photos > Désactiver.

  1. Utiliser une application de galerie 100% locale et sans cloud (ex: Galerie Simple / A+ Galerie).

  2. Ne plus tenter de synchronisation sans nettoyage préalable du stockage cloud à partir d'un ordinateur.

Question 🤔 Help-Photos tagging wrong person

My Google pixel (9 xl pro), keeps tagging my oldest daughter in photos of my youngest. Any tips to be able to tag the correct person? When I search it said, tap the three dots and remove the person, then you should be able to pick the correct person. I did this, but this removes the face choice to be tagged overall, and the face of my correct daughter does not appear.

Question 🤔 Location Display?

Is there a way to have Photos display the location over the picture? This would be helpful for albums.

Edit: Although I couldn't find such a feature, I was able to add maps and location tags between pictures via "edit album". However, they only show on grid browsing, not when browsing picture by picture. Any way to see them in this mode?
