Video This is the largest single-building pig farm in the world. At 26 storeys high, it can slaughter 1.2 million pigs per year. It was built in Ezhou, China, to help the country's exploding demand for pork. Pork is China's most popular meat, with the country consuming nearly half of global pork demand.

I don’t blame any meat eaters. I‘ve eaten so much meat over the years myself and only recently stopped. But I think nobody can deny that this is a place of absolute misery that humanity created, and it doesn‘t need to exist. Our lives wouldn't be any worse if we didn't inflict this cruelty.

I wish I could go plant-based. Medical issues already restrict the food I can eat to at most about 0.5% (now maybe less than 0.1%, I'm not exaggerating) of what normal people can eat and I am struggling to feed myself the bare minimum on a daily basis. I tried going (mostly) plant based for an entire year without the proper knowledge on nutrition, then took some extra hits on my health and seemed to develop nutritional deficiencies so bad that I became (reversibly) physically disabled and started getting nerve damage. I really don't want to have to eat meat. Never wanted to, never felt right since I was a kid. But at this point, I'll eat whatever I still can.

Not everyone has the privilege to cut out animal products from their diet and supplement well enough to not get malnourished. People like me, I wish I could at least make sure the animal products I consume come from ethical sources but I cannot afford much at all and there are so few things I can still eat to keep myself alive that I can't choose much anymore. We can try but ultimately we still need to protect our own health.

You‘re a good person, don’t be so hard on yourself.

No, you can definitely blame meat eaters. They're the only reason why these torture farms exist, they demand cheap meat, that's how cheap meat is made.
