I remember Howard Stern saying he wraps toilet paper around his breakfast sausage after hes done taking a piss to prevent that. Next time he has to go, unwraps it and starts all over again.
Always thought it be weird if he ever had a spontaneous session with his wife. 'Hold on honey, let me get rid of this piss paper'.
Listening to hours of Howard I 1000% believe he does it, because he's neurotic like that and putting some TP on your PP isn't that shocking to begin with
He stands and he shakes and he quivers and quakes and he shivers a moment or two. He teases the drops and he squeezes and stops till he's done all that's needed to do.
He looks at his peen and it's seems pretty clean, so he tucks it away with a sigh. And walks with a frown as the pee dribbles down in a warm little flood on his thigh.
Goochpress, then squeeze the shaft from the base to about half way up like a tube of toothpaste. Finish with a dab of tp on the tip. Does it make it impossible to use urinals in public? Sure. But it works.
It's amusing but I don't really get why it matters. I don't want my sushi to drip, so I jiggle it a little bit. Seems like there's no downside other than some dude telling you not to do it.
Same with the ginger in soy sauce. I don't do it but if someone likes it dipped, I don't see the problem.
Food has a lot of strange, unwritten rules and elitist attitudes about the "right" way to cook or eat something. The French get that reputation a lot, but it shows up elsewhere too.
It's a clump of rice being held together by moisture... when you start shaking it around there's a good chance it's gonna fall apart and make a mess on your plate, the table, or the soy sauce bowl. That's also why you dip the fish in first and not the rice, because the rice soaking up the soy sauce will weaken its integrity and could also lead to it falling apart.
Some things aren't important, like the ginger stuff (it's a little weird to use ginger that way, but it's okay to be a little weird), but some things are there for a reason.
It's one of the reasons I'm pretty staunchly opposed to traditionalism in general: if the reason we do things is always "because it's tradition" then people who don't care about tradition might not realize which things are done for an actual reason and which things aren't. It's much better to teach people the reason we do things rather than "that's just how it's done".
