Winner is the Judge #914: Subclass Act!
Thanks to /u/Proteusmutabilis for hosting last week's contest.
Contest
Adventures in the Forgotten Realms introduced D&D concepts into Magic bringing two similar games by Wizards closer together. This set introduced Class enchantments. But there are still lots of character classes and subclasses that haven't gotten the Magic treatment!
This week, your challenge is to design an Enchantment — Class card representing a yet unseen D&D class or subclass.
Requirements
- Your card must be an Enchantment — Class, using the existing Class enchantment mechanic.
- Your card must represent an official D&D 5e or 5.5e class or subclass, or a well-known third-party class or subclass (such as Blood Hunter or Gunslinger). Please link the source material for third party works.
- Your chosen class or subclass must not already have an official Magic Class enchantment representing it.
- If for some reason the card name doesn't make the class you've chosen clear, please share what class you chose in the comment.
Feel free to take some artistic license with your card. The goal isn't to reproduce D&D mechanics exactly, but to flavorfully capture your chosen class.
Judging
What'll be tough about this challenge is flavorfully relating Magic to D&D while using useful mechanics and still adhering to constraints on color, mana cost, and text. It's... basically the whole challenge. A card that can balance all of that well will win.
Class enchantments have three sets of abilities, and I want to see how those abilities work together. Each level should be mechanically relevant and flavorfully appropriate, and the card as a whole should feel cohesive.
I'll also consider overall card design, including balance, elegance, and how naturally the card fits into Magic.
Final notes
There's a post by u/PyromasterAscendant that suggests a similar WitJ was run about 2 years ago, but I couldn't find it. If you had submitted a card to that one, please submit a different one here.
Please include the source of your chosen class or subclass, particularly if it's third-party material. You're also welcome to explain your design choices and how you've translated the D&D mechanics into Magic.
If you'd like feedback, please share that in your comment.
I'm not sure what site would be best for mocking up the card or if the new app here supports class enchantments but https://mtgcardbuilder.com appears to be able to mock up class enchantments accurately, at least. I'll be a bit more lenient with text space with this in mind.
I'm excited to see how you bring new D&D classes to life on a Magic card. Good luck! I'll be back to judge on Sunday, October 25.

Meme Design For all the One with Nothing fans
Not sure if this has been done before, but i think it’s funny and would almost be playable with Ketramose or a self mill strategy

Trials of Ithyca Set Preview
A little showcase for a handful of cards from a draft set I've been working on for about a year or so (on and off). The set is only halfway done and isn't playtested at all, but I'd love feedback from other eyes. I plan to eventually finish it and try it out, as well as write a 5-10 chapter story to go along with it. I have also attempted to use completely non-AI art, and hopefully have thus far, but if something sticks out please point it out so I can look into it and possibly replace it.

Mechanic Design Evasion mechanic: Flank
Creatures with flank can only be blocked if all attacking creatures without flank are also blocked.
So you first have to block attacking creatures without flank in other words.

Terruk, the Brawler
For context, Scorch was a mechanic made to represent a faction of characters in a D&D game I had. TLDR, pyromancer knights w/ a Jedi-like societal structure who really hated the undead. Seeing as we will never get ‘exile-touch’ due to how absolutely busted it would be, I felt this was a decent go between. As for Terruk himself? Eh… big Gruul guy likes combat, go figure lol. Feedback would be appreciated!
