Over $1 billion spent, few miles driven: How California’s flagship clean transit initiative was hit by accusations of fraud and waste

LA Times investigated California's $1B+ electric truck and bus subsidy program and found serious oversight problems:

- 64% of vehicles lacked required mileage reports.

- 80% of EV/hydrogen vehicles with available records fell short of state mileage benchmarks.

- Some subsidized vehicles barely ran or sat unused.

- About 25% of participating manufacturers stopped production or exited the market.

- Authorities are investigating allegations of fraud and duplicate subsidy claims.

California claims the program reduced emissions, but incomplete data makes those claims difficult to verify.

**Bottom line:** Taxpayers spent over $1 billion, but the state often can't prove the vehicles are actually being used or delivering the promised environmental benefits.

UK Government approves North Sea gas

A blow to the climate zealots. The new Prime minister Andy Burnham has given the go-ahead for extraction of gas from the North Sea.

Amazingly, even the Guardian seems to approve:

Consensus

Climate devotees always talk about consensus but let's not forget that there used to be consensus that sun rotates around the earth until one guy came and proved otherwise. I'm writing this because of John Clauser the Nobel Prize winner, who isn't even saying that earth is not warming he merely suggested that it's not mostly due to humans but because of cloud cover, he couldn't even present his theory because his speech was canceled. I'm sorry but that is not science, it is religion.

The anomaly in current interglacial period isnt current temperature

The longest sustained cold period during the Holocene is the Little Ice Age (LIA), which generally spanned from roughly AD 1300 to 1850 (or about 1550 to 1850 in some stricter regional definitions), lasting roughly 300 to 550 years depending on the regional timeline used****. [1, 2, 3]

Key Details of the Longest Cold Period

  • Timeframe: Traditionally dated from the 14th or 16th century through the mid-19th century (~AD 1300–1850 or AD 1550–1850). [1, 2]
  • Characteristics: It was not a single, unbroken block of extreme freeze, but rather an extended multi-century epoch marked by advancing glaciers, frozen rivers and canals (such as in the Netherlands), and lower average annual temperatures (roughly 0.5°C to 1°C cooler in the Northern Hemisphere). [1, 2, 3]
  • Core Drivers: Driven by a combination of reduced solar activity (such as the Maunder and Spörer minimums), clusters of explosive volcanic eruptions, and ocean-sea ice feedback loops. [1, 2]

Paul Burgess: “An explanation of climate change, pure and simple” | Tom Nelson Pod #436

Paul Burgess uses history & ocean heat to track low clouds in the Northern Hemisphere.

His conclusion is warmer oceans caused by the sun & things like El Nino, lead to less low-level clouds & more heat.

He accepts that mankind has increased CO2, but not heat because past "recent" warm periods had the same 280 ppm.

Only 2.4% change in low-level clouds equals CO2 heat changes according to him, if I understand correctly.
