What's your proudest "I saw that movie in theaters during its original run" achievement?

If we won't count a preview screening of There's Something About Mary, then I'll go with Mulholland Drive.

I saw Mulholland Drive in its first run. I can't remember if I read a review or got a recommendation form some music forum. I was unfamiliar with any of Lynch's work. I took a friend who I barely talked to anymore at the time. We walked out of the theater in silence when it was over. To this day I have no idea if he was happy I invited him.

That started a lifelong fascination with Lynch. I promptly bought Twin Peaks on VHS and rented Eraserhead and Blue Velvet.

Is that the movie where the suburban keeping up with the Jones’es are banging each others wives?

I can only speak about my friend group, but we had enough of a good time that it's one of the rare cinema experiences we still talk about years later.
