When I was in University I was a server at an upscale restaurant, awful owner disliked by everyone. My girlfriend at the time was also a bartender there, I mentioned that I might wait until the busiest Saturday night, in a full section, take all the orders and then walk out. I asked fellow staff and gf if they were okay with it, they laughed and said yeah.

Indeed it was a crazy busy Saturday night, the largest busiest section in the restaurant. I took the orders, didn't say a word, and peaced out through the back kitchen door. There was uproar, a lot of comp'd meals and $1000's lost that night.

A week later I went to pick up my check from the hands of the owner, he asked why and I responded; "If you treat your staff better, you will have happy and motivated employees and a thriving business. Both the kitchen and fronthouse staff want to fuck you over, think about that. Maybe this can be a turning point for you and your sanctimonious attitude. Have a look in the mirror, there's nothing interesting or special about you."

He was a lot nicer to the staff after that 😀

I almost have second hand catharsis from this. Nothing like hitting those toxic fucks in the pocketbook.

So he just gave you your last pay check after costing him 1000’s?

Yeah I mean still legally obligated. I guess he didn't want to deal with not paying someone
