Performing service for the sake of giving back, no ulterior motives. Give back to your community, see firsthand the impact it makes on others’ lives. Deliver or serve food to the needy, mow and elderly neighbors’ lawns, walk dogs at a shelter. Just do something outside yourself that benefits others. The feeling is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, and worth every second.
I think people deeply underestimate the value of serving someone in need. It is one of the few mutually restorative acts in life. This is no "experience it once" thing, it's a way of life.
